I don't know if this has been done before, but I'm curious as to which way we all went, here. Personally, I prefer Koda. I like the Braeys, I do, and might prefer them to the Koda in every way, but the Koda do have a certain right to Ember.

My problem is that I've played this so many times I've gone with both multiple times. My first choice might have been Braeys, but I can't remember for certain.

+1 to the previous reply, but generally Braeys.

I can't seem to bring myself to ever side with the Koda. Maybe it's the fan fiction I had started that shows Valent as a spoiled wretch of a person, but I just can't do it.

Braeys seemed far more sympathetic all in all.

I'm about to do Koda for the first time, but I'm only doing it to see the other side of the story, while trying some other choices and character builds... if not for curiosity, I'd probably never pick Koda - Valent, and the knight just seem so... pompous, spoiled, self-righteous, etc... while the Braeys seem more good-natured and honorable. ... and they remind me of Vikings. My opinion might change depending on how the dialog changes when choosing the other side though.

lol. I agree. The Braeys are more favorable. They treat your party better, overall, and are more generous. Koda, however, remember, does have a right to Ember. It is his heritage, no? That's the ONLY reason I've ever gone with them. Not to mention that while the baron and his knight seem pompous, spoiled, self-righteous, as Nathan said; The people under Baron Koda's rule really aren't that bad. Doom them all because of their leader? Nah. Then again, it has been a while, so perhaps his people really aren't that great :/
Also, I'm waiting for...what's his name. That Braeys you chase off because under the influence of a god? Well, I'm waiting for him to nip us in the butt. Perhaps his death caused the family to doubt you (a corrupt power could easily turn this into something quite bad), or they end up doing some rather brash things because of it. Perhaps sparing him leads to his return, in which case he either takes the seat of power and rules with an iron fist, or gains sympathy and turns the Braeys against you.
Did any update happen with him, after this part, btw? Again, I've been gone for a bit.

I intend to make more polls about some of these decisions. Such as the one said above, or who to take to see...what's her name (you're given three choices in EP4, and I chose the nature god...women...It's been a while). I think it's interesting to see which way the community leaned.

I actually pick Koda, so that I could leash them later on, and give the Braeys a breathing room later on Sometimes, to do good, you have to pick the choice that seems opposite
If you need explanations,I could force the Kodas to stand down in ep 4 and feel justified for it. But the Braeys really hated me for forcing them to stop fighting

Koda, however, remember, does have a right to Ember. It is his heritage, no? I don't believe in the concept of hereditary rule. In fact, I don't believe in the concept of rule at all, but that's a different story, but simple birthright is an especcially silly concept of deciding who should hold power over others. The old Braeys on the other hand seems to do a solid job, and we also don't know but can only assume what the future holds, at least at the first playthrough, so we can only use the facts we know and assumptions derived from those to decide.

crimsonking it is true that anyone in their right mind would pick the Braeys in their first playthrough. But later on, for newer groups, you would have to ask yourself, "Was it the right decision to pick the seemingly righteous side, or would it be fairer to choose the devil, making it own you and use the favor against the devil itself" (kinda like Ghost Rider in that aspect)

The Braeys seem overall tame, excluding Blot (My next poll subject), while the Koda do need a leash. However, I do, again, however, have my suspicions. The Braeys family seem almost too good.
