Decided to chronicle another captain via video, **Now with Commentary** This video has not been rendered to HD, even though it was filmed at 1280X720. I hope we don't get any artifacts in the video. Please let me know what you think! youtu.be/JfqeaGFIav4Happy Gaming! ~LordofSyn Long video! I most commonly play a MO/Commander/Zealot captain in ST2, so I watched it because I was interested in seeing how other people play MOs. Some interesting things I noticed you do differently than me: - Your Captain template prioritized Skills and had low Attributes. I normally give Skills E priority and give Attributes B priority so I can max Charisma and get enough STR/FORT to get 180 hp.
- You use crew color stars. I haven't bothered with them, but seeing you use them convinced me to try them out in the future.
- You get your officers to rank 5 in their first job before giving them secondary jobs. I always get my officers to three jobs ASAP.
I absolutely agree that Power Play is a great Talent (although you weren't really making the most if it with only 12 Charisma). It's especially useful early-game to get a good start.

Thank you for the comments and reply. It is nice to share strategies. I usually like to prioritize Skills first and Attributes second as everything else will usually come down to rolls using them both. I'm glad we are able to save the templates so that we can tweak them later or copy and tweak them to try a slightly different build. I use the stars to help me see who has been leveled up and who the Officers are at a glance. I prefer to start an officer or crewman's path with their first job well before having them branch out. When selecting secondary or tertiary jobs for them, I do like to have an overlap in at least one skill so that it compliments their already established job set. I honestly cannot wait until I can start doing published Let's Plays on my channel *Interactive * of course because I can get my viewers involved by having them as part of the story.
Maybe I'll post a new ST2 video again soon. I wasn't even sure the forum members cared to watch them as the analytics showed no traffic. I'm not sure if it just because they are in this thread or not.
Regardless, thank you again for the kind words and feedback. Also, thank you for watching more than 2 minutes and dipping out. (Most of my videos on my channel have 2-5 minutes watched before viewers click away and it's so frustrating as the analytics don't give a reason why).
Trese Brothers games are not quick play material.

If all your ST2 video links are in one thread people could find your videos easier.

This is the first that I heard that this video existed.
I don't understand the hurry to give your officers both new jobs, except that I give all the officers I intend to boot off the ship as soon as I can afford to replace them a doctor job, so I can use them to make dr saves with the medical staff talent for the short time they are around. Don't you early-slectors all end up with officers that have talents you could easily duplicate in crew, because you didn't know that you were going to quickly run into a source of spy recruits, or pirate recruits, or what have you?

I'd much rather drop a crew dog for a special recruit from a contact. You want to keep officers around obviously. I like to train the Captain and maybe another officer as a Dr if possible.

The reasons I get my officers to 3 jobs before ranking up their main job is so I can rapidly widen their pool of skills, and get access to a larger variety of Talents to choose from more quickly.Yes, and I always try to fire officers when I find a contact that offers special crew recruits that can take their roles. When playing as an MO, I'll eventually fire all but two officers, a Crew-Dog/Mechanic/Engineer and Pilot/Pirate/Star Trader, because those combinations have Talents that heavily benefit from highly stacked Repair and Pilot skill, respectively.
