So first off, DANG. I've played a lot of mobile (and PC and pen'n'paper) RPGs, but this one really takes the cake. I'm near the end of Chap 3 with my first group (all the freebies) and just started with another one (all the paid) and still loving it. I'm really impressed, well done!
When is a good time to respec? In your 30s sometime?
I've noted that you only get around 44 skill points total, so you really only get to max out 4 skills with a dabbling in a few others. Since each char has a huge number of great skills, this is really a lot of tough choices. I've enjoyed the strategy involved in having to carefully pick the right ones for your individual group. I'm finding I have to sacrifice many of the solo buffs in favor of group buffs, as well as some solid cursing attacks. In my first group, Vraes and Tami are my heavy damagers, with Kjartan and Kyera mainly being buffers and cursers with a little damage and Kyera being a secondary melee/tank. In the second, I'm not sure who will be the main damage dealers (barely in Oskahold so it's too early to tell) - it seems like it's easier to spread it out some, though Vincent is the main curser with some damage along the way. Just musing...
I read the combat guide and saw that evasion gives strong dice against ranged/magic, but dodge is only normal dice. Are there any buffs/skills that grant evasion? I ask because Kincaid with his Sure Parry and other parry buffs rocks against melee attacks, but seems to go down quickly against missile/magic in his light armor. Vraes can tank really well with his Iron Skin and heavy armor, but Kincaid... How can I help him handle better against missile attacks?
Is it just me or am I seeing things correctly that 2H weapons are almost never worth it? If I can attack 3 times with a 1H 2AP weapon but only 2 times with a 2H 3AP (or even just ONCE with a 2H 4AP one), it seems the math is equal or better with the three attacks over the two (maybe a small difference, like 10-15 points on the upper end). Add in a shield, and it seems that 1H is universally superior for defense AND damage (which is really odd in an RPG). Is there a compelling reason to get a 2H 3AP weapon (or even have Kincaid dual wield with a 1H 2AP and a 1H 1AP) over the 2AP options?
I keep seeing mention of something called exalt. Is that an actual game mechanic thing or just a term here on the forums for when someone posts something helpful/awesome?
Is the Steam version completely separate? Is there a way to get a discount if you have bought all the eps and exta chars on the mobile version so I'm not paying full price for it twice?
Bloodstones - I found a ton of them in Chap 1 & 2 (like over 10), but have only found 2 or 3 total in all of Chap 3. I'm totally that guy who scouts every single corner, so is it just me or do the bloodstone amounts drop off precipitously once you get into the CoD? I was using them like crazy and now I'm starving for them, wished I had saved a bunch for the later game.
Anyhow, that's it for now.
