Just a meandering thought: What do y'all think of making every "strictly better" relationship between relics and non-relics different? For instance the war gear that adds +1 MP and +10 Max Heat versus the relic that adds +1 MP and +50 Max Heat -- finding a way to make the non-relic have a different bonus that makes it, at least in some very niche application, still slightly competitive. For sure, relics will be the stronger choice 99% of the time by virtue of the extra RP spent and limited equip count. But maybe something for the example given would be to have the non-relic war gear also add +3 HP. Just a tiny token bonus for it to have something the relic doesn't have. Now, relics that aren't strict upgrades of other things wouldn't have similar adjustments; only the ones that are 100% better than their non-relic counterpart would have a corresponding change.
I don't feel strongly about this though.

I feel that this would muddle the balance of the game and not be particularly helpful. +3 HP doesn't really make it any better, the Relic is still better. You have limited Relic options, use them well. Equip the rest with the best gear you can.

Relics aren't meant to be competitive imo. They're a significant RP investment for a hugely powerful item which only a single Templar can use at any given time. If everything else becomes better, then the relics lose their value.

Maybe make each relic unique? Like....a plasma rifle style gun for the scouts or some kind of heavy rifle for soldiers that does a bit of damage for each type but costs extra ap or a melee weapon that does damage to the templar on a miss but extra damage on a hit.
Just something that switches up how we play would be cool

Yeah, seems like everyone wants the exact opposite of the original request There are definitely a lot of unique relics. That's kind of their idea, since you can only use it once per team. Soldier rifles that have Bio-Poison, Relics that cause all grenade attacks to be Penetrating, etc. We'll keep working on improving!

Lol. We've steadily been adding relics, and especially really special ones, so keep an eye out.
I wonder -- would anyone be interested in like Gear Level 15, 1000 RP relics?

I can't speak for everyone but.....I'm game for anything. As long as its properly badass having high end relics is a cool idea.

On second thought I agree. I was really tired when I wrote this and upon reflection, it doesn't make much sense. This is the sign of someone we can take seriously. Posts something, later revises opinion and posts again disagreeing with himself. If everyone was better at this, the world would be a calmer place.
