The Droid Master character class will be able to make use of upgradable robots.
They will not gain XP. If you wish to increase a Drone's skill, you will have to purchase an upgarde CPU chip or SK chip.
If it dies it is destroyed. If it is knocked out, it can be recovered.
This will soon be true of runners too.
That is the way of TB.

Ahhh Mage: The Acension... quite easily one of the most powerful PNP RPGs around. It is also, in the hands of a masterful GM, one of the best games to run for the sheer scope of how stories progress. MindBending... but give me Wraith any day first. Wraith (for all its spleandor, was a true Horror game, and was an essential game to The Storyteller System Canon Mythos for the whole other side of The Umbra) was a failure because most people didnt want to invest that much time/energy into what they considered to be Ghost stories... but the emotional aspect of the characters was a whole different aspect to playing the game. It takes committment to a game like that! As for the lack of Magic in CK...i already agreed that it didnt fit their universe... but i would like to push for psionics... ::small nudge::

As for the lack of Magic in CK...i already agreed that it didnt fit their universe... but i would like to push for psionics... ::small nudge:: I will agree on M:TA but W:TO is way too player/location specific to be, in anyway, epic. It drains both players and storytellers to the point where they'll go: "Y'know... being a ghost is really awful, having to roam about the same place for eternity. The most exciting part of their lives actually revolves around people coming into your abode so that you could haunt them... Let's hope that when we die, we'll at least be damned to Hell if we could not make it to Heaven." And, sorry about using M:TA (love how Magic works in there... freaking EPIC!!!) pics... Here's some REAL Cyberpunk Psionic shit! Firstly, a portrait painted by a boy-prophet of the self-created & constantly evolving AI-Goddess rumored to inhabit and rule the Matrix. Psionic Leader and team. Psychic Levitation (Or OOBE?) Psionic in Mindscape Is it the effects of Hedlozz? Or does she have 8 arms? Yes, it must be Hedlozz. Counted, only 6. Nothing scares the shit out of Lab attendants when the Psionic you were anal-probing a few minutes ago escaped... Psionic Death Stare! The Droid Master! And her toys!

I always liked the idea of psionics in a future setting, just a little more belivable than magic to me.
In a setting like Cory's they would be even more of a wild card than CKs are, and treated a lot worse. Burn the witch kinda thing ya know.
Probably more appropriate as some sort of mutant leader antagonist than a playable character.

Or even a Megacorp endgame antagonist. Nothing is scarier than a Technopath with Telekinetic powers, surrounded with machinery and weaponry, in a Cyberpunk world.

Glad you guys agree.
Andrew and I have had long debates about both psionics, mutants and technomancers in CK and have come back to the same conclusion several times -- they're more exciting as dangerous and deadly antagonists than they are playable characters.
I expect that, if they do become part of the game' storyline, that we will learn about them as the game expands beyond NBZ and into the outlands and other urban zones.

Wonderful artwork though. Great lines
We need to team up and make a small serial story...where we use your Acquired artwork and we both supply the prose. Could be a parody, could be a hit! what do you say BG?

But we've got lotsa talents here like what Andrew and Cory said. byowulf could draw, nyktos could code, you could write, gravling could playtest, gravis could chainsaw detractors, slide could provide an Italian version and I could dream... in my sleep... while everyone's working their asses off. Hmm... does sound like a great plan.

I knew this game is gonna be expanding beyond the dome. The setting is just too huge to be contained by a flimsy structure constructed by Mars. ;D

Yes, Cyber Knights will go beyond the dome of the NBZ. A number of the islands in the ruined Boston bay have already been designed. Some of them are highly featured in one of the stories under production. Stay tuned.
