Achievements and Unlocks system Update #82 v2.3.11 Ship Unlocks questions. 1. Will you still create more ships to purchase that do not have a perquisite difficulty setting? 2. When you unlock a ship, are any of them faction specific? For example you complete an achievement but you still can only buy that type of ship from Rychart. 3. If you complete an achievement on hard and want to go back to playing on normal difficulty. Do you still get to purchase the ship in new games? For example I complete "Expert Contractor" on hard difficulty. As I continue playing, hard just becomes more than I'm willing to go a full game with. Will the Galtax Freighter still be available to me on a new game at normal difficulty. New Achievement Unlocks very cool! Difficulty | Normal or Higher | 3 ship Unlocks | 1 available 2 coming soon. | Difficulty | Hard or Higher | 11 ship Unlocks |

1. Yes, lots more ships are coming. However, more and more future ships are going to have restrictions -- faction-specific, require high Rank or Edit or have an achievement requirement.
2. At this time, none of them are faction-specific. I do not think that we will cross 2 of the restriction systems (faction-specific vs. achievement).
3. Once unlocked in a game, this reward content is available to any captain at any time, any difficulty. So, the challenge is to do the Expert Contractor *one time* in *one Hard game* and then you're set -- you've unlocked that content *for all captains forever*.

All these years I've never attempted to play any Trese Brothers game above normal difficulty. It worked, you flushed me out of my comfort zone! I've got a real positive attitude about trying it on hard now. The achievement goals look challenging, and allot of fun. Instead of feeling sorry for my self about never getting any new ships. I'm really, really happy with this new system. You two guys never cease to surprise me. Great Job! Thanks

John Robinson - that's actually 100% the point of the Achievements! I'm glad they worked on you. To encourage new types of play you might not have considered before, seeing the game from new angles. I gave the following advice to a player on Steam who also did not want to try higher difficulties: Try Expert Prospector. Do this -- start with the default Smuggler Template (because he has lots of Contacts), go to Hard, use the default map and pick Moklumnue (because they have a nice, dense starting Quad). Ignore the Arbiter. Talk to every local Contact and do as many no-jump missions as you can -- the first year or so, they give really easy missions. Load up on mission, I had 6 going at a time when I did the unlock. You may have to do 1 or 2 multi-jump missions to wrap it up. When you're done and you've scored the Achievement, you can close the captain and go back to playing whatever difficulty you please!

I'd like to add a question. Can you complete the 'reward coming soon' achievements now to have it already unlocked when you release the reward in the future?
