early, i am cool with losing 10% XP as things progress, it jumps to about 33% XP loss...
i guess, 40% is the most XP i was "ok" with sacrificing.
i restart alot, or die alot on hard modes...
so i havent gotten to 300, YET!!!
my new goal! hahaha!!!
;D

I want my Dermal Sheathing 3 (40) Chipped Skills 3 (60) and Wired Nerves 2 (45)
for most of the game. When my skills get good enough I can do without the Chipped Skills.3. Cyber Hearts are a lot of fun, but by the time I can afford one my athletics are really high anyway. When the Mechalung bug is fixed, and a top level lung will make toxic poisoning a thing of the past, I will probably invest in one of those for 50 DV.
Chipped Reflexes 3 at 80DV is very nice -- but by the time I can afford the 100,000Y pricetag, my athletics is rather wonderful without any help.
I don't think the 'lose experience' part if implemented yet -- I haven't felt it, at any rate, on package and people deliveries -- so you might as well experiment with everything.

Attribute caps are coming soon, as are "Skill Specializations" which will both raise and lower the value of XP in the late game.

Will it be character-class dependent? I am also not sure what counts as 'late game' -- since all I am doing is playing until death. I know, I am just being impatient.

XP Only Caps ========== Attributes Cap at 12 Skills at 18 (or 20 for Character Class Affinity Skills)
Cyber Upper Max ========= Attributes at 20 Skills at 40

Only the DV for a cheap dataport.
And damn Cory, why do us Cyber haters get shafted? Is the maths really too complex to change, or was it a conscious decision to limit it?

From what I understand, there will be xp dumps such as special skills and whatnot.

So you can use exp normally and then have special skills such as "ninjaskill kick" that costs 50exp and requires 12 body and 10 brawling?

Don't remember Cory dropping any specifics, but he did mention there will be something like that.

It'll depend on character, I think, but my current character (an Agent Ex who plays mostly like a cybersword) is pretty heavily modded.
I favor replacing skin, bones, nerves, brain, eyes, you name it. She may be a cyber-zombie, but that just means she's higher on the food pyramid than all of those pure-strain human sorts. (though as a zombie aliens do find her delicious)
Having said that, I've been away from CK for a very long time and now that I'm playing it again, and playing it a lot, my opinion may change radically. I am enjoying the hell out of single-handedly killing everything in sight, which is a lot easier with bones made of metal and bullet-proof skin.
However my current project is to move up to brutal in difficulty and explore other kinds of characters. So while I suspect my next project, a hacker, might be fairly modded-up I doubt the alternative I'm toying with (a face with a crew of runners) will be modded at all.
Time will tell, for now I'm afraid I'm far too newb to know for sure. But I will say that I play the game because I like cyber-punk, and that does require some "cyber" to go with the "punk".

Does anyone have suggested implant packs for different classes? Cory has shared a few of his with mine, and I see a couple above (thanks @absimilard, grävling)... per class, I usually have already a pre-picked set of implants I want, and there is a slightly different set for each Runner+class type (which has a little more focus on survivability).
