So I'm wondering about the in-game time taken taxi-ing around versus running around.
My initial impression was that taxi-ing was quicker. This was mostly formed from a very rough realization that I take about an hour to "walk" a neighborhood and then counting taxi-times going from Ox territory to Fennian. This was long ago, with a low-difficulty character, so like my first game since picking CK back up.
However I've begun to suspect it's way more complex. I've noticed myself taking two hours to taxi like one and a half neighborhoods. I haven't done any serious testing yet, and before I do I'd like to ask for input from other players. (because duplicating effort is silly)
My current theory is that taxi-speed is higher than speed on foot but that there's a second factor that adds to the total time which is how long the taxi takes to get to you. So if you want to taxi two neighborhoods you first spend some time waiting for the taxi and then spend more time in the taxi getting there (at a higher speed than you could do on foot).
If I'm right this could account for why I seemed to take less time to taxi long distances and more time to taxi short ones, compared to time on-foot that is. But I really haven't done any serious testing, like writing down data for analysis.
So if anyone has data to give me about taxi's and time, I'd love to see it. Otherwise I'll do some timing runs myself when I get home from work tonight.
(of course one of the Trese Bros. probably knows the formula, but if we can figure it out on our own that would be more satisfying)

Ok,i'm rapid...XD These are taxi travels,of several distance,taken from terminals or Buildings ^^ I tried several distances, the "x squares sector movement" refers to counting how many sectors the taxi needs to arrive at the target location,i presumed that the quickest distance is making an L route if the target location directly isn't N,S,W,E from starting point...
19:36-21:16 North Square -> Roxbury Crossing = 7 squares sector movement // 1h40 22:33-00:13 Roxbury Crossing -> Copley Square = 2 squares sector movement // 1h40 00:13-1:53 Copley Square -> Harbor District = 4 Squares sector movement // 1h40 15:31-17:11 Liberty Square-> Harbor District = 1 Squares sector movement // 1h40 17:59-19:39 Harbor District -> The Fenns = 7 squares sector movement // 1h40 19:39-21:19 The Fenns -> North End = From edge to edge // 1h40
It's clear that by now,distance isn't important XD

Wow. That was both fast AND definitive. Thanks Slide!
So it's an hour and forty minutes no matter where you go, or how far. From that I guess that the moral of the story is that it's faster to run anything up to about two neighborhoods than to taxi. Beyond two neighborhoods take the taxi if you can. For long-distances, like across NBZ the taxi is a lot faster.
Thanks Slide, perfect.
I guess that closes the court for today! Pretty conclusively no less.

{edit} I'm kind of laughing to myself thinking about how this must work in-game. I can see Benni sitting around playing cards with the other taxi drivers. A call comes in, "Damn guys, Lia needs a ride out of Copley Square," Benni says ah he hops up from his chair at the card-table. "Where's she going," McFly asks. Benni replies, "Not far, just to Commonwealth, the Tattoo Parlor." "Well, we're about 10 min. drive from Copley and it's five minutes, tops, to take her to Commonwealth from there. Benni, tell her you're on the other side of the city, and sit back down, you'll get there in say an hour, maybe an hour and a half." Benni thinks about it for a sec, "Yeah, good point. Hey King, pour me another beer and deal me back into the game. I got time, Lia can hang out until we're done here." {/edit}

Bwahahahah i also think it must be how u wrote xD the only defection of this test is that i tried alone(no runners with me,but this thing doesn't count for time needed,i think) and i tried with all the 3 taxis(benny,mcfly and king) but probably also this doesn't count(right TB?) for time needed to travel =) Yeah,it's cheaper and faster walk 1-2 sectors than take a taxi...the only modification i'd like to view could be different elapsed(?right word?) times for different distances...and i remember that Cory told about taxi changes in the future(some of these changes already done,as the no-taxi service for escort jobs)...we will wait =)

I would also like to see a higher price, faster (and heat-resistant?) taxi somewhere. "im the fastest(and fattest) taxi driver in the NBZ. See, im the only one who hates card games. Also i dont care about your heat, because i was smart enough to buy a bulletproof car."

Beh,king takes u evertwhere and at any heat u have ^^ So does Jennings, but you have to be given his V-chip in an encounter. There now is a reliable way to get King's chip without needing V-chip luck.

Go work with Cava Saint for a while. You find out how to get his V-chip by chatting up many people in the Fennian VIP rooms.
p.s.
when you are working for Cava, he really doesn't care if you do work *for him* or just *for Fennians* -- i.e. all that matters is that your Fennian rep gets higher and higher. So I often get rewards out of Cava even though I have mostly been working for Mrs. Grim, who has good paying assasination and capture missions.
