It's official, my 2nd replacement nvidia shield tablet is about to die the permament death of no battery. Nvidia never made replacement batteries. I tried the technique used here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOc8afGYDfo to get a different battery (the one in the video) to work. The surgery was only partially successful. The new battery worked, but alas I could not recharge it inside the tablet. I have to use an external battery charger, which defeats the whole purpose of the exercise. Plus you would have to re-solder the whole thing every time you needed a charge. Just having an external battery pack does not work either, as the thing currently draws more power than it recharges with -- so you have to shut it down for hours to recharge no matter what. And the k1 shield is no longer being manufactured. So I cannot just buy a fourth one. Grrrr again. Looks like I have to buy a new tablet. The Samsung Galaxy tab s5e looks nice, and a friend of mine has one and loves it. But will STF run on it? What about the other games? CKN? grumpy badger. |

In all honesty, I'd recommend you to get a phone instead of a tablet. The price/performance is killing it.

grävling - absolutely will run STF. It has nice resolution (288 dpi, 1600x2560) too, should look beautiful.

If you have to sodder each time why not add a male and female conecting ends? It would make the battery removable but Idk if it would fit its case. Just a thought

Also are you using fast charger or just a regular charge charger? I dont own a fast charger myself but ive had the chance to use one and I was impressed.

edmanthunder, the great grävling doesn't solder like the rest of us. She is a badger. She points her gun while smoking at the work pieces and in a gentle voice but with very firm words, explains to them why they should be one with each other and fusion occurs.

I have a various set of chargers. Some are faster than others. Alas, the part that needs soldering is not ammenable to being turned into a connector -- it is a place on the surge protection board that needs to get tweaked every time.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 S5e (SM-T725) ordered. I already have a super fast volutz charger and super fast volutz usb c cables, so the charging on that thing is amazingly fast.

Simple question, why root the tablet? Does not the TB game run a standard tablet? You can't do easy cloud backup without rooting. Titanium backup is great. You can't access the saved games directly to send them in to us without rooting. |
