OK, I have made over 40 attempts at this achievement. The last run this is what I did: Level: CRAZY Captain: SPY Ship: Tempus Fugit Faction: Syndicate Rychart Ship upgrades (Ran out of time to fully upgrade and still meet time constraints): Combat: NONE Interior: Water-Fuel Tank Propulsion: NONE Armament: Omni-Stealth Array Prior to 67.1 I became a Hated Criminal (at least -33) with both House of Thulun and De Valtos Syndicate. I then built up just enough money and upgrades. I stacked Stealth and Pilot early and then Tactics. Once I got to around yr 69, I started to heavily surveillance each of the above factions. I got -100 with DVS first then HoT. I burned off the rest of the time at an independent urban planet and at yr 79.13 I went to the planet's palace, Hall of Records, Record Exploits....NADA!!! I have exactly -100 with each faction right now and believe I had enough at the beginning point to earn this achievement. Can anyone explain what the heck I am doing wrong? I should have earned this 3 other times (based on what I have read and the answers Cory has sent to me). HELP!!!

Do you have two "Wanted" flags in Status / Faction? Buying a new ship may clear the flag. Some descriptions and additional information is here.

Same ship the whole game. I was a hated criminal in both HoT and DVS...I believe I was wanted by both.

According to the game text "Hated Criminal" is the threshold. If I knew what the exact negative score needed for each side was at the 67.1 mark it would make a huge difference.

I believe that wanted flag looks like this (I have just one): You need one from Clans and other from Syndicates.

THIS IS REALLY P*SSING ME OFF! My last run: Date 79.12 (no achievement of course) Double verified BOTH WANTED FLAGS!!! Level: CRAZY Captain: SPY Ship: Tempus Fugit Faction: Syndicate Rychart Rep List: HoT -17 CJ -22 SSC -323 SR +36 DVS -32 CS-107 Was -31 (Hated Criminal) with SSC and CS at yr 65! Was even more negative when 67.1 turned. What the hell do I have to do to get this achivement? I mean really...even with the previous post I totaled -101 with the Syndicate and OMG -366 w/ Clans. This is really unfair now. I have worked and worked at this and it makes no sense!

Remember that Dark Nemesis is meant to take 22 years. That is, if you got Hated Criminal in the Clans AND the Syndicate (Wanted sign) in yr 65, you won't be eligible to claim the award until yr 87.

Right...but starting it early means that at year 22, I had already been hated criminal for25 years. That means I actually did this achievement more difficultly, but I still did it. I had to burn the last 3 years messing around.

Finally got this!!!! The timeframe on the achievement states from 67.1 - 79.12. If you do the math...that is not 22 years that is 12.11 years. I managed to run this out a bit further and finally got the achievement.
What a frustrating achievement. Went right out after that and got Rapid III...LOL!

Cory'll need to look into the formula to calculate Dark Nemesis eligibility. Achieving something in little over half the required time is a bonus, but buggy all the same Still, I can't complain, a number of times, I have achieved the award in less than a year.

Oh wow. What a dumbass I am. Been working through awards from a written list which reads "wanted for 22 years". If only I had copied the information better (though not verbatim as it does state "from 67.1 to 79.12"), then I wouldn't have spent the last 80 years getting fully kitted out for an unacheivable award. *facepalm*
So... what the text says is wrong; you don't have to be hated/wanted "for 22 years", only at 22 years after the start. Imprecise wording strikes again!

you must be wanted at 22 years Game states you must be wanted FOR 22 years. (My previous post was explaining how I had made a list of achievements that I was to work my way through, but due to inaccurate notation I wasn't going about Dark Nemesis correctly). What I meant by the final paragraph was that it is made very difficult to understand what is required of the player because the wording is often misleading. Indeed you appeared to contradict what the game says, as quoted above.
