I just found out about implant DV and its affect on earning experience. I currently have a dv of 210. Should I work on reducing this to get more experience? My highest attribute is strength at 7.

It's not what your highest is at that is significant here, but what your lowest is. And it all depends on how much fun you ahve having with things now.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still getting experience so I guess I'm good.

meretzky - DV that high will affect your XP rate, but not so much that you get 0. As yo approach 300 DV, you will find that your XP rate will slow to a trickle.

Slide87 -- this would be a strange bug, and one that I have not yet been able to find. Perhaps it existed in an older version of the game and no longer works that way?

I think that I am only losing experience in combat jobs. Package deliveries were giving me full xp, no matter how cyborged-out I was. I don't have a heavily cyborgted char handy to test, but when I raise more cash I will look into the problem.

At the release of runners I totally gutted and re-did the entire XP granting system.
I am fairly confident that it only works this way because I deleted the other routes to the XP system. A search only finds one method "rollTeamXP()" which is concerned with DV and exhaustion.

Ok, I went and downloaded an old character -- Grävling 6.15 who was created when 6.15 was the lastest version of CK. She's a CyberSword, and has a 5 job computer, so I could raise money with her quite quickly. I spent most of yesterday doing that, and bought a ton of implants.
It is now 270142 turns, Sandbox Brutal, XP ready 22, XP Spent 1119
So now I have Wired Nerves II (dv 45) Thermographic Imaging (dv 15) Dermal Sheathing III (dv 40) Range Finder (dv 10) Matrix Link (dv 15) Cyber Heart III (dv 50) Chipped Skills III (dv 60) Mechalung III (dv 45) Gun Link (dv 25) Hand Blades (dv 15)
making me a CyberZombie, DV 320.
Stats;
Body: 9[14] Str: 9[10] Ath: 8[11] Bra: 8[11]
Dex:8 Stealth:8[11] Firearms:[12]
Mind: 9 Int: 9 Ele: 9[10] Hack:: 5[7]
Per: 9 Neg: 9 Intim: 9
----------------------
And, as far as I can tell all of this has made absolutely no difference in how I gain experience. I don't when I am exhausted, and I do every other time. Package runs, escort duty, negotiate, message delivery, capture, assassinate -- they all give me 1 point, every time. I haven't tried any data courier jobs, as I am not equipped for them.
Samsung Galaxy S, GT-i9000, firmware 2.2, FROYO.XWJPA, running CK 6.35
Do you want a logcat of me doing jobs?
