Sorry that CK hasn't won your business. We'll keep working on improving it. The challenge is that we decided to make CK a game more about story than ST, which means the focus hasn't been on the ranking/repping/trading but rather on building a beta framework that can support the story system. Overall, the game has suffered as a result of this diluted focus. Compared to ST, CK is still very incomplete (something like 30% of the planned features exist in some form or other.) I don't think it has suffered Cory.I feel that the two games are very different and in being different attract two different audiences.I'm the opposite.I favor cyber knights elite as it is more of a traditional RPG than star traders.I enjoy all of them and will support and shout out as much as possible, but CK is the one that I love.

I admit that the only elite version of the Cory series I have is the Star Traders RPG. THe life of a non-Elite-version cyberknight gets very boring very quickly. Something like this: 1. Do you have Money? No? Take a call, go to Aztek and get one of their high-paying jobs. One of the zones has 4 connectors. Yes---> go to 2. 2. What class are you? a. Gunslinger Buy a pair of Mars Raptor II and go to 3 b. Sniper Buy a pair of strumwhelger M2s from Boston Rifles Import in Knight Horizon Harbour territory (Those are the best f2p snipers!) and go to 3 c. Cybersword Buy a Taser Unit MT from Boston Importers and a Steel Enforcer (The very best in Midway Club, Mars Territory) and go to 3 d. Hacker Scrap everything and go to 3(i) 3. Do you still have money? Yes---> buy a Firewatch CPU from any club's waitress and go to 4 No----> go to 1 and come back 3(i). Are you a friend of a datahound? Yes---> go to 4(a) No----> go to 4 4. Are you superb friends with Aztek? Yes---> buy an FN-PAR 85mm and go to 5 No ---> keep doing those jobs from Aztek and come back 4(a) Is there a Data Terminal near you? Yes----> go there and hack everyone blind No-----> find a dataport and come back 5. Are you good friends with everyone else? Yes---> farm for a 6-job computer through Aztek No---> Go on a rampage and use hotels to keep your foes penetrable and that's it. it gets boring after a while. It is a worthy game and you should go elite.it is a unique and endless game.what more do you need?

The Strumwhelger M2 is indeed a nice weapon, especially if lack of AP is your most serious problem. But it lacks penetration. Innaccurate shooters (poor firearms skill) may be more interested in the Yakashima Mk251 Bounty (buy a real one from Back Bay Importers, not the rip-off copy sold at Boston Rifles). Those with good firearms skills will want to check out the HunterSight from Mars Corp. Again, Boston Rifles sells the inferior sort, get the real one. But it sounds to me as if what you need is to increase your difficulty level. A lot. So much so that after your first day, you cannot do more jobs for Aztek because you cannot afford to have an encounter there, because you will be shot dead. ... I'm not sure about that. Boston Rifles Import rifles seem to have better stats than the corp-built rifles. Oh, and by the way, I did ramp up the difficulty. My gunslinger is still spamming jobs for Aztek #likeaboss with a pair of raptor 2s.

You must be misreading the stats. Boston Rifles is known for its inferior copies, which have smaller clips than the corps models. Their Mk251 Bounty only has a clip of size 4, while the real one has size 5. The other stats are identical. Their HunterSight has a clip of size 4 as well while the offical verison has size 6, and again the other stats are identical.
I don't know why Aztek goons haven't shot you dead already. But then, I haven't seen the appeal of Raptor 2s, either. Maybe I will try using them again; I haven't given them a shot since penetration started to matter last week.

Raptor II is a sweet weapon with great pen (6) and pow (6) with great accuracy for a pistol. Great range and clip too. Raptor III has awesome pen but lousy accuracy unless you have great firearms skill. The Raptor III is a portable Bokmok IMHO. What happened to Raptor I though? Phased out model

No way you work for Aztek solo in Brutal without getting killed by Mars and Yakashima. According to your other posts you worked for Aztek pretty much early to mid game. Can you please expound further, your exploits in the NBZ

Raptor II is a sweet weapon with great pen (6) and pow (6) with great accuracy for a pistol. Great range and clip too. Raptor III has awesome pen but lousy accuracy unless you have great firearms skill. The Raptor III is a portable Bokmok IMHO. If, for role playing purposes you like the idea of walking around with a pistol or 2, well then that is all the reason you need to want to use a Raptor 2. But its stats are: Power 6 Penetration 6 Accuracy 3 Range 5 AP 3 Speed 1 Y450 while a Mk251 Bounty is Power 6 Penetration 6 Accuracy 5 Range 6 AP 4 Speed 2 Y1700 I'll take 2 shots instead of 1 over AP3 instead of AP4 -- and the extra 1 range is useful as well. But the real advantage is the Accuracy 5 vs Accuracy 3. I've just never seen why I would want to use a Raptor 2 when I could have a Mk251 instead. It's a nice weapon for a runner who cannot use taser gloves or rifles, though.

Then I will take this as another vote for the idea that a gunslinger should be able to use pistols in both hands with the second one either costing 0 AP or with some small amount (like 1). That would indeed be one way to make gunslingers different from Snipers, and fun. But for now I will take it that you are using pistols for their roleplaying potential in your imagination, and not because you have found something that they can do that I cannot with my rifle. I'm all for imagination, by the way. I just hate to think that I am missing out on a strategy.
Of course if Cory institutes a concealed weapons policy -- say the patrols confiscate rifles if they catch you walking around with them -- then having a concealable weapon could become important. And my beloved mk251 doesn't pass that test.

I checked and 2 of the Rifles sold at Boston Rifles are superior to the ones sold in Yakashima. see startradersrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ckbugs&thread=24582 others, as I posted are worse.
