Prize Ships: lack of profit

Greatings!

Im playing with the military officer prize talent and was surprized when i payed 800 in tithes for a reach carreier and then only got 500 back from selling it.

Was it because of battle damage to the prize ship?

Definitely was due to battle damage. The Military Officer in particular really only makes a profit if you deal NO damage to the ship. You can get away with roughing up the ship a little with the Zealot, and considerably with the Pirate. The reputation losses for those two are higher though.

There are lots of ways you benefit from prize ships -- Conflict score, Reputation, potentially cash.

All benefits are contingent upon your activity.

You can also make $0 salvaging if you smash a ship to peices.
