1) Your operating system and operating system version
macOS High Sierra, v10.13.6
2) Version of the game you are playing on (hopefully the latest, but please include the numerical version from the front page)
v3.1.3 (current)
3) Description of what happens
Crash to desktop after generating a V2 map
4) Description of the steps taken that can reproduce the bug
1. Create new captain (any template) (launch)
2. Change map
3. Create new map (select)
4. Check mark "Use V2 Map Generator" (no seed entered manually)
5. Click "Save Map"
Game will crash to desktop with a crash log
Upon the next game run, a "map" will be shown and saved as being generated (saved as Map 1, Map 2, etc) but selecting it will immediately crash the game as above. These "maps" (since upon selecting any of them will crash to the desktop) need to be deleted from ~/Library/StarTradersFrontiers/ to clear them out. They are otherwise useless and will only crash the game again.
The number of quadrants or density selected upon map creation makes no difference (crash)
Steam online/offline mode makes no difference (crash)
I've tried deleting ALL generated files in ~/Library/StarTradersFrontiers/ but the game behaves in the same manner (crash)
I've totally deleted, then reinstalled the game (crash)
As long as the "Use V2 Map Generator" is selected, the game will crash on map generation.
The initially generated map that crashes is 98k, subsequent maps generated are 1,024 bytes each
The crash is only on V2 map generation. Loading previous save games work fine
If the "Use V2 Map Generator" is NOT selected, the game will generate the map correctly and run normally.
I can easily provide the crash logs as this crash is 100% reproducible. Just let me know where to include or send it.
