Over a few months I became a major fan of Star Trader and decided to try out Cyber Knights and failed now I'm trying again I've made about 12 characters none lasted long now I have my hacker who can actually hold his own against many Los V thugs and Hunds and Yak. I have around 4 data hounds but I don't know how to get the data sold to them. I have pay data what do I do with it? This is my first post! ;D

Oh,well,first of all,your Pay Data(PD) must be the same that datahounds(DH) need; Usually in your contact list,u can see a thing like this:
Shatterdeck(BS) --> Shatterdeck,the name of the DH,and which data he accepts, BS(BraveStar)
To sell your PD,u just open a data terminal(or go in a building with a phone),and call your DH; he will buy your PD if it's the right one =) To grab different PD,explore the NBZ and connect to other data terminals =) U will look several different hosts,that have different Faction PD...But be careful, 'cause in some neighbourhoods this could make end you in trouble(especially Corp zones)...=) Ah,a last thing,even if i can't confirm this(it's a my thought): PD value is influenced by your PDA(your computer) Rating value,i think ^^
Welcome,anyway =)!!
EDIT: U can see if you have a specific Faction PD(and,pratically,how many paydata u have) in the Factions Menu; near the Faction description,u will find the Faction PD u have =)

@slide - thanks for the good advice. kontraband - you can also visit different faction backrooms. Data Hounds hang out in there as well, so if you get to know which faction is looking for which Paydata, you can know where to go and sell your stuff on the street. To keep your characters alive, stay in the areas you can handle (streets, gang areas) and don't wander into the corporate, Brave Star, Yakuza or KH areas unless you can get out again quickly. The NBZ streets are mean and you have to know what you can handle and stick to it.

kontraband - then you may not have any data hounds. We have tried to make all the naming consistent, but maybe we missed a few. Which contacts do you have right now? Is there a specific faction for which you are sitting on a mountain of paydata? I could help with some exact advice about where to go looking for a buyer.

fallen Of nothing,when I can, I try to help others(and sometime with my language lack i confuse them XD) =) Well well well, when u have the time u could write something about various faction data hounds in CK blog...=P It'd be appreciated by many people XD including me XD No,seriously talking,by now play as a hacker is more difficult than play as a combat class(i know,runners give a help in this situation); Finding Vchips is hard(compared to a Battle class), so often is a better choice to sell data in Backrooms(a 5 rep is enough to have backroom access,also a hacker can do it XD)...So, any info about various Faction DataHounds could be useful...=) Often,i noticed,Datahounds availability is low,but perhaps it's a my impression..=)

You speak English fine, mate. Just your grammar can be hard for some people, but mostly those who do not have all that great of an understanding of English themselves.

Hi all,
Quick and naive question:
Where do I find the info on which kind of data do my Data Hounds buy? I have two Data Hounds (they show up in the Data Hounds section in the Data Terminal), but I don't know what data they but.
Some of mentioned the Contact List, and a format like
"Oh,well,first of all,your Pay Data(PD) must be the same that datahounds(DH) need; Usually in your contact list,u can see a thing like this:
Shatterdeck(BS) --> Shatterdeck,the name of the DH,and which data he accepts, BS(BraveStar)"
but I am at a complete loss here.
Could anyone just point me, step by step in the right direction, since I can't seem to find such info?
Cheers, Paulo

There is no existing list that defines which pay data a particular data hound wants. The easiest thing that I did was get pay data from every faction and checked who wanted what when I logged in the matrix

kontraband - then you may not have any data hounds. We have tried to make all the naming consistent, but maybe we missed a few. . Captain Malloy, Kass Bad-Eye, Investigator Shahin , Gibson, and Patty Coogan don't have the faction whose data they are interested in printed on their phone listing.

Yes, Captain Malloy and Kass Bad-Eye are the ones I'm referring to. When I talk to them, they mention data, but I no longer know what kind of data they are looking for.
In the meanwhile, could anyone remind me what data do these two look for?
Cheers, Paulo
