Embargo's happen so often and quickly it would be nice if the exchange had pale pink? Text for inventory items when you are buying from an embargoed source.
Or maybe the quanity numbers could all be in red.
Since with all the text flashing by it's easy to miss a Mom & Dad are fighting message.
Thank Salk

That's what Political Officers are for.

So what your saying is when you have the PO onboard there's a color change to the Exchange when shopping on an embargoed planet?
I'm not sure how I missed that.... I'll have to try the PO again.

No color change. Just warnings.

No, no color change, but you get a pop-up letting you know you'll lose faction if you trade in this exchange and the name of the faction in question. Note that if a faction is under multiple embargoes, you'll only see the name of one of them from the PO, so you'll still have to retain some awareness of the current political status even with a PO.

Question, does the warning stay on the exchange screen? Or is it one of the popups?
Reason I ask is because on my sgt7 tablet some popups linger way to long and others you'd have to have 20/20 vision and speed reading skills to catch.
I'd fall into the Veruca Salt category... I WANT IT BOTH... Wait thats not her quote..
Thinking on it, I'd like red quanities in the exchange or maybe placing a "conflict" button on the exchange screen would do about the same thing.... Though I'm still in favor of colored text when an exchange is embargoed.
Oh, and currently I only have "Long Operations" & "Long Combat" disabled and still some game text is on crack.... Hope this helps

With PO's, you get a pop up the first time you enter an exchange. However, if you decide to trade and/or if you decide to leave the exchange and then go back in, you won't get any further warnings.
The popup doesn't last long - it's one of those few-seconds popups.

The sad truth is I'll probably never run with a PO, unless the number of officers allowed on board increases with ship size.
I'm stuck with Pilot, Mechanic, Military... Now if they could be freeze-dried for situational deployment...

The PO is very useful when you are a casual player. This is because sometimes you forget which factions are having a spat at other factions, and the PO can quickly leap in and let you know.
If you are more of a die-harder, you'd check your status on a regular basis.
The great thing is that once you are in one of the special status menus (eg Conflicts, or Rumors), did you notice the icon beside the back button in the top-right hand side? This lets you quickly scroll through: Politics (who hates you and who doesn't), Contracts, Rumors, Conflicts, then back to Politics again.
As a good captain, you'd want to check these things before you decide to enter any port just as a matter of habit.
For the most part, I have the Pilot, Mechanic, and Political Officer on board. If I am an explorer, it is Mechanic, Political Officer, Scout If I am doing lots of combat, it's Pilot, Mechanic, and Military Officer.

Or you could simply look at the list of conflicts.
