While I was away, this changed as well. It used to be that after you had an encounter with a hostile party, or the leaking NBZ roof, or a terrorist attack -- you had to press the arrow to continue to whereever you were going. Now this happens automatically. And I hate the
feature.
I've played with it for a week now, and didn't say anything before because I know that sometimes when you dislike something it is just because it is unfamiliar. Try it for a while, and you will like it. So I wanted to give this a fair chance.
But my conclusion is that, I find the thing a small, minor convenience in those cases where I successfully avoid an encounter, or confront somebody who wants to give me some credits, or run away from a toxic waste splash or terrorist attack -- when there was no chance that I was injured. But the downside of when I am injured is huge.
I have died 3 times today -- fortunately instadeath is not working for me now so this char is still around -- because a terrorist attack or a toxic roof leak took my health down to 1 physical and 1 mental, and just as I thought *I must stop and heal now* there is another encounter, which I cannot evade, and a red hatted boss puts a bullet in me round1 turn1 as they had the initiative. This sucks.
If it is too hard to have movement continue only after results that could not mean that you are running around in an unhealthy condition -- or at least any unhealthier since they could not have resulted in hp loss -- I would like it if things went back to after every encounter you have to hit the arrow to continue.
Sorry to be so critical of everything this week, but I hate this change, too.
