Long time player, first time forum user. I absolutely love the game. It's very nostalgic of playing Shadowrun during my childhood. I've been browsing the forums and help file in hopes of finding the answer to my question, but to no avail. I was curious if someone would be kind enough to explain what the Nano-Ready and Hard attributes provide to armor. Thank you very much. Greatly appreciated. Keep up the amazing work Cory and everyone.

Currently those abilities are TBD. Ill guess that hard will help against powerful attacks and nano will have neat attachments like auto heal kits...total speculation though. Beta. ;D

Try hooking up with a dodge armor. I didn't see any value with hard armor since my def goes down when I use it. My def is higher with dodge armor but I'm assuming nano gear will be the way to go when its up so I did buy the Mars version. But for now, IMHO dodge is the way to go.

Each to their own. Dodge armour is better for players who have high ap due to attributes & cyber wear. However myself my agent EX (dv 70) & hired help (dv 40) are generally kept pretty even stats wise, & do fine on the normal setting with 10-6 hard nano armour. With my main characters stats @ around 12, it takes alot of bad luck or bad nbz air to frag me

I prefer heavier armor as well, gotta save my ap for running around and punching people. Dodging is for sissys!, and sane people to I guess... ;D

I am in the middle of extensively testing a series of 4/3 armours which only differ in their dodge ability. The short answer is -- when your dexterity is 3 or lower, you are better off in dodge armour. Of course, you probably cannot afford it. It's the difference between being able to dodge damage occasionally, and getting hit every time. But whatever you do, things are pretty bad for you until you improve your dex, which might not be your top priority, given that your athletic ability is probably rotten as well. Because your dex is rotten, you don't seem to be able to wear -X armour well, so not only do more blows land, but they do more damage when they do. Not too many 'armour saves' happen.
Between 4 and some value that I haven't determined, but it might be 7, you are better off in -X armour. More blows will connect, yes, but nearly all of them will be 'armour saves', so you come out ahead.
And at the high end it seems that with high dodge armour you can dodge pretty much anything. So this works out well. But high end -X armour keeps on protecting you for those times when your dodging takes a rare miss. So it seems to be a matter of playing style.
Note -- I am taking about the natural dodging you do here when you don't press the dodge button. I press it so rarely (hit the deck! there is a Cannon right beside you!) that working out if it works better with various armour seems a waste of time to me.

If you are wearing a Nano-ready armor, and carrying a Nano-ready medkit (the Saviour) then if you die, the medkit will immediately deploy and restore your health. Other nano capabilities are waiting in the wings and will be deployed hopefully someday soon.

Somebody forgot to mention this in the release notes when this happened, then. Off to buy a Saviour right now, then....

grävling - yep! Should work! My poor Knight on Brutal is just scraping by and has explained to me that he doesn't want to be the tester on this one. This was a feature that has been in the product, actually, since its first release to the Android market. Seems like it was not well advertised.

wildblue1010 - also, Hardened Armor will provide additional damage against weapons with Extreme Damage and will be more effective at completely nullifying small arms fire. While these weapons / armor classes are not in yet, they will provide another entire tier of combat difficulty, where in deep mega-corp facilities and enclaves, you may start to face corporate soldiers wearing armor suits that your pistols can't even punch through.

The last time someone asked about the difference between nano-ready and hardened, we were told that they had not been coded yet.

I sure hope I have not been lying to anyone. Well, I could easily be the one that said 'not implemented yet' -- because as far as I, or anybody else but you and Cory knew, it wasn't. Now if my Savior equipped Custom Insta-Die Agent Ex in the Nano-Ready Yakashima Agent Dx-Suit dies unexpectedly, because it really isn't implemented -- well, I will just report that. Or report being saved, however it happens.
