The regular Panther Cannon you can buy in a store has Penetration 10, Range 9 and Accuracy 2. The improved version that Cava Saint rewards you with, that has the 'built in Scope Tek long-sight scope' has Penentration 8, Range 9, and Accuracy 3. From the descruption, it sounds to me as if the ScopeTek should have a longer range than the regular Panther Cannon but the same amount of Penetration.

Not necessarily if this was a modified Panther that boasts better accuracy. The setup for the cannon could have been altered in ways to minimize bullet velocity in exchange for aiming ability.
Of course, this is just my opinion ;D

Of course, this is just my opinion ;D I don't see this. (And, of course, if the weapon is only a more accurate version, then the description should reflect this; what is written implies longer distance, not more accuracy). There are lots of things I can think of that would reflect muzzle velocity -- adding a silencer to the gun, for instance -- but a scope? I'm not seeing this.) Having silencers for many weapons in the game -- making a stealthy exit even more stealthy -- strikes me as a great idea, though.

Realistically a scope improves the accuracy of any weapon because your aim improves dramatically. Scopes never improve range of weapons. To boost range, you would need to tweek the gun itself. As for the drop in penetration, I'm assuming its just a trade off since you get a better accuracy cannon.
Silencers would be great if we can have that, since it improves heat reduction but that would reduce weapon range.

I can see how the range could be the same -- in which case the description needs to be tweaked, it currently says:
State of the art sniper rifle with recoil-kick and a built in ScopeTek long-site scope.
(Hmm, I think that should be 'long-sight', and I like State-of-the-Art and built-in better, myself).
but I can also see how the range could actually be improved, as in 'the gun will not fire unless the targetting computer has a lock on its target, and with the scope you can get a lock at a longer range'. (Unless you are Luke Skywalker, and just 'use the force'.)

Long-site would be a typo since it should be long sight ;D If a firearm would get a range boost, you would need to improve ballistics to get more bang and make the gun bigger which would affect weight (if we had encumbrance issues that would be a great trade off for range boost).

#1 - the penetration is buggy #2 - else, i think it is a +1 accuracy weapon

@cory - it was intended to be +1 accuracy. We can fix this in the catalog. As mentioned before -- these big re-work projects are bound to have some numbers-bugs, which will get worked out. Thanks grävling.
