Time to Drive = How Many Turns Used Cooldown = How Many Turns They are "Busy" After You Call So have the cooldown for cabbies changed and if they did what are they now? I'm just curious because Jennings and King won't give me the time of day after I get their services when i got the new update

Just seconding Gravling. I had no problems w. King when I just recently tested him.
(I haven't got Jennings on Lilly, who I'm currently playing with, so I didn't take a look at him)

The last time Taxi code was changed was ... December 12, 2011
Kinda sad, actually.

Is it just me then that's having this issue? When I use Jennings or The King they are only available after 3-4 hours later. So that's approximately 2 cab rides with other cabbies. Hmmmm....

Is it just me then that's having this issue? When I use Jennings or The King they are only available after 3-4 hours later. So that's approximately 2 cab rides with other cabbies. Hmmmm.... That is the way they are supposed to work -- King says 'busy all day, call me *tomorrow*. Indeed, I have had them be busy for even longer than that. But they always work fine after I have spent a night in a hotel. So I don't use them for general 'get me across town' work, first because I walk a whole lot, and second because I keep King in reserve for those times when you get targetted by a Patrol, fail the check, and end up with your heat maxed to the sky. It's time to phone King, get the hell out of there, and sleep the heat off, which you cannot do if you have already used him an hour ago to save yourself a walk ...

Walking to a safe zone might be faster but there are times I barely escaped when I get fried by a spy or get ambushed. I can thank my Kraken for that but sometimes a quick getaway via a taxi is a better option than hiking to safety

Exactly, which is why I don't phone King unless I really need to get to safety. The trick is to rest often enough that your heat stays low. Then you only 'need to get to safety' when a patrol has greatly increased your heat, a terrorist attack or a roof leak has greatly decreased your health, or when you have just finished a very messy job that took longer than you thought, and where you found that you had to kill more people than expected. When any of those situations occurs you will be very glad that you didn't use King to get from the Fenns to Dorchester -- because it's such a long walk ...

It really makes my day to see intelligent, accurate discussion of best practice play.
