On a dead planet with a rumor in orbit it is more like 212 out of 1000.
On a normal day in normal space, about 1 in 1000.
Over a dead planet, 104 out of 1000.

Correct -- that gives you double the chance of dying by Alien attack "Dying". Once I hit level 30 I'm not dieing by aliens. By then I have the harbinger carrier fully upgraded so I have over 200 crew and over 110 weapons with still alot of room for water fuel. And I have the templar, veteren, and military officer. By then of the 30 alien encounters I've won 28 of them. Maybe in addition to the alien ships you already have, you can make new alien ships like one with 500 crew AND 100 hold so they can have over 50 weapons. Just a thought, cause once you hit a certain level, even 1000 crew can't defeat you if you have 130 weapons and they have none

I actually had the same idea in mind about the alien hunter but I didnt want to say anything cause I make so many threads already. Nice to see other people had the same idea in mind.

Well if 110 weapons can't defeat those types of aliens, what can? Ram? Guns? Torps? Alien Hunter? (Oh yeah, that's right. There's no profesion that specializes in killing aliens. I forgot )

That is correct -- no profession that hunts Aliens. Andrew and I talked a bunch about it as well, in terms of both Star Traders and Star's Edge and in the end I think we will probably go another direction.
The suggestion for the additional class is definitely something we noted and discussed internally and it has been a good set of threads, the one before the Alien Hunter one was particularly engaging -- however, that said, we're really focusing on the feature and enhancement roadmap for now.

Hey another question ... if odds of alien encounter is roughly 1/1000 in normal space ... is that Green Zone space or Red Zone space? If it's redzone, does the odds change to something like 50/1000 or is it much less than that?

What if when you go at the very edge of the map, you get the option to try to go outside the quardrant where you dont see the map but you get lots of alien/narvidian encounters and radiation storms?
