What if when you go at the very edge of the map, you get the option to try to go outside the quardrant where you dont see the map but you get lots of alien/narvidian encounters and radiation storms? I actually like the idea of going off the map. Maybe you can bumb into secret planets even though nothing is displayed when you go to the zoom map. Or maybe you can discover something like a secret seventh faction  |

I'm not sure how it would translate for new players or work from a UI standpoint but it is something to think about.

well, actually, the farther you are from 1,1 the more likely you are to encounter Xeno. Best way to find them is with Rumors tho, Space or Land rumors. I know but that's all on the map. Imgine going past the map to find new planets and maybe even new enemy ships and new factions. Its like discovering a whole new galaxy that your not part of and never thought existed. Imagine the endless posibilities |
