Okay, I'm a moron, I'll admit it. I'm almost certain I've forgotten a ladder connector.
The backstory is that I'm working up a new hacker, Lilly. (okay, Lilly's not exactly brand-spanking "new" at around 600 XP, but she still has things to do) One of my goals is to see if Lilly can climb all the ladders, after which she'll finish out my personal goal for her by then raising her rep with the remaining factions until she's beloved by everyone. (she's more courier than assassin, or even hacker, so it's viable as a goal; just long)
Anyhow I could swear I've forgotten a ladder connector. Can someone look over who I've currently gotten and remind me who I'm missing?
Lilly has already climbed the ladders of:
Cava Saint (Ladder connector for the Fennians, because I covet King)
Texas Powers (ladder for BS, because even if BS is "B.S." I covet the pass for the front gate)
Victor (because even if B.O. is a little stinky a free safehouse in their turf is good)
Kass Bad-Eye (Well, she gives you some stuff, but mostly Kass is hot and Lilly swings that way)
So I'm looking for ladders for Yakashima, the Yakuza, K-H, the Streets, Mars, and AzTek. I know some of them don't have ladder connectors, but I just can't shake the feeling that I'm forgetting one of the ladder connectors. (though I can't recall who/how-to-get/what-faction)

You have the list. But you may be remembering that you have to attain a certain rep with Streets before you can get Cognac Brawn's chip. And, of course, if you want a certain gun you need to go up something like a ladder -- a series of conversations at least -- for AzTek.

Cognac Brawn, that's it! Thanks Gravling. You're right, I'd forgotten he's not an actual ladder connector. I probably mentally misfiled him because of the rep requirement, though he's not the only connector I know of with that requirement and I wasn't thinking they were ladders, so who knows for sure.
Glad I'm not totally losing it.

Hey Cory and Andrew, any chance we can get ladders for the corps or some kind of awesome quest system please? It'd be cool to get inside some corps for some secrets and stuff, as long as its really difficult to do so. Challenges make it fun =)

might i ask another question on the ladder connectors: with my cybersword, i have now Cava Saint and Kass als ladder conectors. though i have like 60 rep with Fennians, Cava still just gives me "normal" job (packages, encodes messages and the like). Kass herself doesn't give out jobs at all, as she seems to be just a data hound for KH-data. but she gave me the jacket and 1000 creds as well.
my char has headware mem, but never ever got a job offer for a courier job until now (400 karma earned). is this intentional or did i screw something up?

Kass will give you more stuff if you keep working for her. Cava will want you to start capturing people for you soon, and he has a series of rewards, too. To get a data courier job you need a dataport as well as memory, but the people offering those jobs show up even if your head doesn't have the correct hardware. To meet such people you have to visit a backroom of a faction that has members that want the service. All the corps do, and the Yakuza do, but I don't think any of the other gangers do -- but I could be remembering that wrong. I cannot remember if BS or KH want any. So I think it is that you haven't been hanging out in the correct places, rather than that you have done something wrong. It also can sometimes be a very long wait for them to show up when you want them -- I generally repeatedly run into one in the Golden Flower Restaurant when I am trying to hire a martial artist runner, but when I really want to use my head that way, well, she seems to have gone on vacation or something.  |

All that matters is rep for the faction. What number you need for the next reward varies from faction to faction -- there is no rule that' the first reward cuts in at rep 35' or anything like that. In particular, you can get to the top of Kass' ladder, despite her keen interest in KH paydata without ever giving her any.
