I'm in the East Narrows.
There is a building in the north west corner of the map, which is brown and 4 squares wide. South of it is a fenced in area that is 5 x 1 Above it is a line of 6 fences, with a 1 square wide corridor of 'regular outside' between the fence and this unnamed building.
I am in this corridor, just north of the building, 1 square west of the east-most square of the building. Thus there is a fence due north of me.
A dog is standing on that fence square. He shouldn't be able to walk there -- or alternatively I shouldn't be able to walk where I am. He is going to bite me, since he is an vokked hell hound, and there is another one who is due west of me in the corridor, and both of them have plenty of AP left over for chewing. But he ought not to be able to stand there, nor bite me through the fence. By going there I ought to have serialised the doggies so that I only have to take them on one at a time, unless the second one is able to run to the other side of the corridor before I finish the first one off. That was the whole point of moving here in the first place. I will kill the clear threat to the west of me, but I know that this one who shouldn't be standing on the fence north of me will then bite ...
Killed the west doggie. Now will I get bit?
Yes. Got bit. That hurts! Oh no! I am dead! Grumble, grumble, I shouldn't have died there, as I should have been safe from him.

(ps -- I know, and I was pretty sure you'd get it, which is why I offered it. I so love that game, II wasn't bad {might be my personal favorite}, Tactics wasn't great, and I haven't tried any of the recent incarnations.)
Still, it sounds like a particularly annoying one, especially given how you've been busting on trying to get a Female II past the doggie-phase. Even at like 8 Athletics and 10-12 AP a round dogs are still rough, it's just very hard for me to maneuver enough to keep them both from biting you AND in range for a shot from a taser.

Just shoot them with your mk251. train firearms to 8 before you improve AP beyond 9 and ath beyond 6. I now have 3 immortal soloist CK female 2s !! so it works.... but helps that fallen and cory stopped having vokked doggies show up in my face before I can afford both 'armour' and 'better gun' ...

This probably oughta be taken to a thread in the general discussion area, but the more I play the more I'm convinced that proper XP allocation is very important due to the rise in enemy quality/quantity over XP function. (i.e.: If you spend inefficiently you can rapidly start running into fights you don't have the skills to handle)
My solution usually involves very focussed XP spends early on, stats first and then skills {and only skills I absolutely need} so that I'm spending as few XP in the "double cost" {or worse, "triple cost"} categories.
I think the conversation would be illuminating, but I need to think about the theory a bit more first, and maybe test some first as well. (and of course it shouldn't be at the bottom of a bug-report where no one will see it without heavy searching)
