Hi everybody, hi Cori
First, a little intro: many THANKS for this wonderful game (which is the only paid application on my tablet).
I have a wish list on some "improvements" (some simple, other more complicated) that I would like to propose to Cory and to you all, to see what you think; and since today is Sunday and it is raining like hell, it seems to be the right moment to write it down.
1) Stardock, new ship menu: when browsing the new ships it would be helpful to have a button: NEXT to see the next ship.
2) Award list: at the moment it can be filtered in three ways: POSSIBLE, COMPLETED, CHARACTER. May we add two more filters for the missing awards: ALL MISSING shows only the missing awards needed for some unlock; CHARACTER MISSING shows the missing awards for the selected character (showing for example in bold, or in red, the awards that are still missing for unlock, taking into account the difficulty level, of course)
3) once docked, leave the cohordinates near the planet name (useful for low memory peoples like me, expecially when accepting more than one contract , to be more in touch with the route to be taken to fullfull them)
4) when clicking on a trade good, it shows a list of all the visited locations with the prices (sell and buy) for that good: is it possible to put a button to order that list in four different ways : a) the current order, b) by selling price from high to low, c) by buying price, from low to high, d) by distance from the current lcation
5) Officers page: give a bit more complete description for the officiers, in particular the bonuses (if it is possible with numbers: for example "+6 to pilot"). PS: do the officiers gain experience as well ?
6) I don`t know if the following two can be made also on phones, but for tablets they would be beautiful:
Faction Conflicts: a Table!
on the top horizontal line and on the left column put the 6 symbols of the factions; in the internal squares/rectangles put symbols that describe the kind of conflicts: trade war could be a hand holding a money bag, trade embargo could be a coin with two crossed red lines on it, trade alliance could be two hands that exchange a banknote, spy battle could be an eye, duel of assassins a dagger, alliance could be two shaking hands, solar war a sun with a pistol painted on it, etc...
7) Faction politics: extend on the right the descriptions near the faction symbols, writing (if available) TRADE PERMIT, DEATH WARRANT, Level + name of the rank
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8) give bonuses depending on faction ranks (bonuses to be applied only in that faction space/planets);
here I have only some Ideas: for example lower the price of fuel, allow certain special missions (that I'll propose in the next point), discounted repairs, free repairs (for very high ranks), discounted faction ships, new faction ships available only to high ranking star traders, ...
A small bonus for every rank would be awesome, and even better would be giving different bonuses depending on the faction (so that every faction gives different bonuses)
9) More kind of missions or special missions allowed only from a certain rank in a faction: some examples could be
- deliver a special message to two or more planets of the same faction; - harvest a certain amount of certain goods and delliver them to a faction planet; - defend position (a deep space position or a faction planet) against a wave of enemies (for example 3 or more combats that take place one after the other, without time for complete repair); - stop a unique high ranking enemy pirate (with chances of getting his unique ship ... or being killed);
10) environment changing missions (only for very high ranks, so the game could be interesting even after playing at high levels for a while); these missions allow the gamer to alter faction politics:
- deliver alliance proposal to another faction (and if successful --> the two factions will be allied for while), knowing that other factions (and indipendents too) could send many of their their best bounty hunters to intercept you; - deliver trade alliance proposal WITH some gift goods to another faction; - intercept a certain number of merchants of an opposing faction, to start a trade war; ...
11) a bigger map !!!! an idea for this could be letting the actual map be the center of a bigger one (the inner worlds); while the outer worlds could be a more dangerous place, with some indipendent planets, very rare (or none) faction planets, a slightly bigger chance of encountering aliens, and some small not colonized worlds that could be 'colonized' in some high ranking mission (i.e. plant the flag, defend the world until the settlers and some army arrive, and then deliver to them a certain amount of goods: if everything goes well then the faction has gained a new small planet). Furthermore, the outer worlds could be placed in a random manner while creating the new captain.
... for now I think it is enough.
I would kindly ask what all of you think about these ideas, and, expecially to Cory, if it is possible to do something (I understand that this is quite some work and you have a life too...).
