We're excited about bringing out our games to other platforms and Apple's App Store is the next logical choice.
Naturally, we are curious how our current forum members interact with Apple's line of hardware.

I don't, at all. To me, Apple products are far too overpriced and far too locked down to be worth my while. Add to that the bad experience I had with an iPod that refused to properly "see" music I loaded onto it using their crappy and mandatory iTunes software, and the only thing I could say afterwards was iPissed.
For myself, it's all Android, all the time. But more power to those who don't have a problem paying a large premium for the name, and lining Apple's pockets via their far-above-industry-average profit margins.

No i-phone or i-pad here. If I cannot run my own code or play my own recordings of music I composed on my computer, what good is it?

The next logical choice would surely be to port it to desktop PCs using a cross platform toolkit so that it can run on windows/linux/mac, surely? I'd buy that.

I'm not keen on Apple - to expensive anyway - I've had enough problems with lack of choice on Android (e.g. Google Play's monopoly on paid apps) I can't imagine Apple being any better. iPods and iPhones seem to just be status symbols at the moment. I've got nothing against them but they just don't seem to be as 'special' as everyone seems to make out.

No apple stuff here - never had the chance to try as my home PC is a (Steam) games machine.

Apples are way too expensive, more than car or bond repayments. Also not commonly found. A windows version would be great.

Just occurred to me that asking about apple products on an android forum is probably going to get you a pretty skewed response.

Regardless of our opinions here, if it's feasible to create an iOS version of ST, I think you guys should look into it. You could become one of the rare crossovers who had success on Android first, then went to Apple and continued that success instead of the other way around.

Just occurred to me that asking about apple products on an android forum is probably going to get you a pretty skewed response. We knew that would be a factor before we asked the question. I didn't expect a lot of interest from our current Android players in an iPhone version. However, I wanted to ask to see what the reaction was. The fact is that Apple's devices represent a substantial component of the mobile phone market and an overwhelming majority in the tablet market. Because this is a player's forum the members will be Android users. On the other side of our customer service channel (e-mail) the response and requests for an iPhone/iPad version of the game show a strong interest in a port. Andrew and I both want Star Traders, and Trese Brothers, to be as successful as possible. What we have heard time and time again from industry sources is strongly in favor of supporting both mobile platforms.

Out of curiosity, how difficult and how different will it be to make and support an iOS port of your games?

I agree it would probably be a better idea to release star traders on iOS over computers - most of the people who would buy a computer version will probably already have a version on their phone, whereas an iOS version would open up a 'new market'!

I am missing some options in the poll ... ;D
I for myself don't own any Apple devices and (most likely) never will. I enjoy the freedom, Android give you (through rooting/custom roms etc.).
BUT: if it is possible and dowesn't slow down the CK development substantial, I would favour an iOS-port. imple reason: that would mean good money for you, which in return means: you have more time for developing CK, which is good for ALL CK-users.
