I thought of some more upgrades that i think would be really cool in ST RPG. One of the upgrades was mentioned before, but I was more specific about the exact bonuses it would provide. The name "super-dreadnought" is NOT made up. There was actually a ship class known as "super-dreadnoughts" that was the successor to the dreadnought ships. They were called "super" because of their massively super super heavy armor (and gigantic guns). Attachments:

I'll move it to Wish Lists for you.
This is in the wrong forum.

Okay I think a new "templar armor" upgrade would be a good idea to add to ST. Here's what I'm thinking.
Alien advantages: 1. The average enemy on impossible is about 190%. Aliens are much higher than this. They can easily be 250% to well over 300% of your level. 2. Some aliens are immune or half-immune to weapons, the primary way to win boarding against a higher level captain 3. Some aliens kill 200% to 300% normal crew. 4. Aliens have ships that are 5x better tan even the best ships available to starports. They have ships that have 500 and 1000 crew, 66 armor, and 40 hull ships that are both fast and quick. That is rediculuous. You give us enemis that are 300% your level, AND can't be touched by weapons, AND kil 200% normal crew, like a 258lv isn't enough? And you give them ships with 500 and 1000 crew? Thats physicaly impossible to beat. And I didn't even mention that having one artifact can DOUBLE their power.
What you give us. Two offcers with no upgrades to help them and no hold bonuses to help them and improve ther bonuses (artifacts could increase aliens' attack power much than help the vet)
I'm not saying to make aliens easier. I'm asking for an upgrade or two like templar armor and maybe a hold bonus that could help you and the officers without also helping the aliens. Maybe chemicals? Aliens are immune to weapons, but their bodies can't stand certain toxic chemicals. So each chemical on board decreases alien attack power by o.5%, 1% with templar or vet, and 2% with both templar and vet.

The Templar wear armor called Leviathan Armor, so it already exists in the game.
I will review your ideas, posted them into our suggestion tracker.
A few clarifications for other readers -- aliens are NOT immune to Weapons -- only the Terrox are resistant to weapons (ignore boarding bonus, not damage bonuses by Crew Weapon.)
Another clarification for other reads -- only one type of Alien receives bonuses for Artifacts, not all of them.
And all of the Alien Ships have been defeated personally by me or in the simulator, one way or the other they have to be killable or they're not included in the game.
One of the reasons they're not included in the lower difficulties is because they're such a challenge.

There's a reason some aliens are so powerful: they give you something to fear. What excitement is there if you can kill everything in the game? I don't see the point of Cory changing this, honestly. Hunting aliens was never the point of ST, so at some point you're asking for an ass whipping when you go chasing an 800 pound gorilla.
I'm tired of customizing sigs every time I flash a ROM. This time it's plain old Torp City!

While in general, I really like the idea that the game constantly saves what you do,so there is none of this 'go back to your last save file' behaviour, when it comes to Alien encounters, I find myself very much wishing for them.
Ok, boarding this squid-ship seems to have been a very bad idea. I wonder if this is the one that I was supposed to kill with torps? or ... you know the feeling. I would like to try that last battle again, doing something else. I just don't have enough practice at killing Aliens to be at all successful at it. So it occurred to me that it might be nice to have a mode where alien encounters are, well, commonplace so you could practice fighting them more. It would give Fenikso something to do with that level 96 impossible character, too.
I once played a game which had a mode like that, and another neat thing about it was that it was only available the 17th of every month. Since this was a multiplayer game it meant that on the 17th you either stayed away, or had some serious carnage with the other members of your guild. But perhaps that is too silly -- or too only interesting for multi-player games.
It's so late here it is early. I should go to bed -- or watch the sun rise.

Maybe, to StarFixer's point, we should recast the Xeno ships into difficulty levels so that the current ones become the Impossible Aliens and new Alien ship lists are created for the other difficulties. Some of them exist because they'll kill you 95% of the time and I like that about them. Sounds like I may be the only one who does. I often plot around dead planets on Impossible because of the increased risk of the Xeno. I know I for one think about the Alien with 500 Crew every time I transport some Artifacts!

OK -- that's an easy one.
Next release, Leviathan Armor will be upgraded for Alien Bonus.
I'm also going to go over the Help file section on Upgrades and update it as much as I can before the release.
I will also look at Templar Officer for bonuses vs. Alien.
Thoughts?

I remember playing templar assault that thre was more powerful armor than the standard leviathan armor. Prehaps you could use one of those armor names for a new upgrade. The leviathan armor is a cheap upgrade, this upgrade could be more expensive and therfor provide a greater bonus. I wish there was a way for me to give you an updated version of the help myself. It could save you a lot of time.

I'm adding new tables to the upgrade help section and listing the bonuses so they're all in one place in the help file

How bout all of them! I'm just kidding. I'm thinking Heavy Leviathan Armor/System or Leviathan Command. What would it do? Would it be the same as my templar armor suggestion in the attachment or do you hav smething else in mind?
