I was making some edits to the help and I wanted to ask smething. You've stated n posts on this thread the following:
Stealth evades at long and medium range. Stealth and Pilot evade at short/boarded range. Stealth changes range at long range and med range when retreating Pilot changes range at short/boarded range, and med range when advancing Stealth does combat at long range Pilot does combat at shrt range Sails do combat at long and med range Engines do combat at short and zero range Sails evade at long/medium range Engines evade at short/zero range Sails advance/retreat at long/med range Engines advance/retreat at short/boarded range.
Here's the thing though. Pilot and engines normally go together, as well as stealth and pilot. But that's not the case according to you. Sails only evade at long and med range, and stealth evades a short ranse as well (along with pilot). Also, titan components provides combat engines, but states its for medium range and lower. And, you've staed engines are good for guns, which are done at medium range. So here are my questions:
Sails or engines evade at medium range? Sails or engines does combat at medum range? Sails or engins advances/retreats at medium range Pilot or stealth evades at med, short, and zero range? Pilot or stealth does combat at med range? Pilot or stealth advances/retreats at

Sails or engines evade at medium range? ------- Depends on the attack -- Stealth for Torps, Engines for Guns
Sails or engines does combat at medum range? ------- Depends on the attack -- Stealth for Torps, Engines for Guns
Sails or engins advances/retreats at medium range ------- Depends on the direction -- Sails retreats, Engines advance
Pilot or stealth evades at med, short, and zero range? ------- Pilot for the most part, 3:1 ratio to Stealth
Pilot or stealth does combat at med range? ------- Depends on the attack and roll. See above
Pilot or stealth advances/retreats at ------- Depends on the attack and roll. See above

Thanks. Will be able to finish combat, ship component, and skills edits by tommorow now. Especially the stealth. Vs. Pilot part of the help, where it says that damag avoidance is even btw pilot and stealth at short range, and it heavily favors stealth at med range. One more quick thing though. You say that Pilot evades at med, short and boarded range 3x more than stealth. Wouldn't it depend on whether it was torps/guns, as engines/sails? Also, based on what your saying, I'm assuming that stealth directly helps sails and pilot directy helps engines. Anything that is tied to pilot is tied to engines in the same way and vice-versa, and anything that is tied to stealth is tied to sails in the same way and vice-versa. Is this correct?

I wouldn't say that our Skill helps your Ship's attributes -- they work together.
And no, at close range, Stealth is very limited.

Got it. Is it safe to say though that anything that pilot helps engines help an vice-versa, and anything stealth helps sails help and vice-versa?

I think for the help file that is a nice way to state the basic design concept.

So then that would be correct? Or is it one of those things where it wuld be right 99% of the time but there are rare exceptions?
Like does sails help avoid encounters like stealth does?

I think that is a good thing to put in the help file.
More advanced game play will expose people to the variations but the help file needs to be about the 80% not the 20% variations.
