Narvidians are very dangerous because they are so destabilizing to the Crew, the Ship and the Void. For example, when fighting Narvidians Crew morale drops faster, more critical hits occur and turns can pass very rapidly.
Alies are very dangerous because they are so specialized in combat. Some have unique powers, some Alien ships lack "Captains" or have unlimited Captain HP. Some Alien can use your Ship's Engines against your Ship's Crew or convert Artifacts In the Hold into causalities for your crew (accidents in combat.)
Hulks are a type of merchant AI. Very rare, very rich, loaded with Artifacts and hard to capture. They're also deadly at close range and have a savage RAM attack.
And the hulks are very oddly (but still naturally) shaped asteroids that randomly have random gas geysirs that are caused by your engines radiation and under the surface volcanic activity causes explosions that will launch huge rocks toward you and some narvidians have hidden themselves inside the asteroid and they ran out of energy and shut themselves down so they are now artifacts.

I ended up as a stranded toad on Cadar Prime, literally licking off smaller non-Cadarian ships like flies, just to survive for a few years before getting experienced and lucky enough to earn some credits as capital to do a more lucrative run on Impossible.
Life is good... at least to a Captain who had lost 12 hands before.
nyktos : Can an Implant fix this? gravismetallaum : Chainsaws! It just works! blackgauntlet : Implant+Chainsaw+Mentos= Answer for Everything
If you buy 20 hands from the Doctor, you get a free ear.
You know, I've actively hunted the aliens based on the rumor of alien attacks, and have not once stumbled across the bounty I was seeking. Playing TA gives me that alien-kill-kill-kill rush.
A cool tie in between the two games would be if you have the Mercenaries upgrade and board an alien ship, the ST RPG game automatically pauses and you go into TA, and have to do a sweep of the ship. If you are successful, you go back to ST RPG with lots of bounty, and if you fail ... well let's not talk about failure shall we.
I know it is nigh on impossible to have that type of joint-game interaction ... but dreams are only $5 a pop. They used to be free, but capitalism has reared its ugly head. I'm trying an "Occupy my mind", but feel an eviction is coming soon.
