@fraggin - one thing that is hot on our priority list for Cyber Knights is to make Rumors and Conflicts (like a Heat Wave) a lot more visible in the UI and the different game systems, so you could try to avoid those contracts / regions. If you are getting a nasty set of contracts from Cava, try one of his Fennian street connectors. They are scattered around and will give jobs that might not take you somewhere so nasty.

Ok, if the region is having a heat wave rumour, you need to leave it and go someplace else. Hotels are no longer the best way to burn off heat. What you want is a VIP lounge. If there is a heat wave in both Old Waterfront and Dorchester then you will have to boost your rep someplace else so that you can go inside. Once inside listen for rumours as long as you like -- do not run out of cash, that is all. When you leave -- provided that this is not a heat wave area, your heat will be reduced. YOu want it down to 0. Click on the heat bar in your HUD. You should see a message like this:
Heat: 18 (28) Zone Rep: 10
That means that my heat is 18 in the zone I am in, 28 in NBZ as a whole (the 10 points of zone rep I have here modifies my local heat). Your first priority is to get that (28) ... whatever number you have .... down to 0.
When you leave the Tunnels Streets should hate you some and Los V a whole lot. Your next priority should be doing something about that. Take jobs out of Spencer Street Butchers in Old Kenmore to make Streets like you. Take jobs out of Tuckmore's Saloon to make Los V like you. Don't take jobs to BS territory or deep into KH territory, as they will get you killed. Also if you van get Vinny the Rat's chip, he can give you good Los V jobs.
Once you have things sorted out with these guys, go back to working for Fennian. Don't worry about losing rep with them -- gaining it is not that hard. You would like a computer with more jobs slots, though, so while you are exploring, keep that in mind. Some computers are are sold by people who hang out in VIP lounges, so once you can get into the ones of Streets and Los V, its a useful thing to visit them while burning off heat.
best of luck! Welcome to the NBZ

grävling - I appreciate your advice. I on the other hand have experienced different outcomes and I am not a total noob to know about the computer with two job Slots , which by now I'm sure everyone playing in story mode has discovered. as for the heat level after leaving the tunnels It was the exact opposite for me. My heat level and reputation we're higher with the streets then with Los v. I also did not or just skipped the whole black row part of story mode? Did not come up till after my transition to NBZ or at least the dialog did not. By then it was too late and i missed that experince. I did try to make my way to black row before leaving the tunnels but the big ? Taxi drive did not have any dialog for black row? That is a first for me since this in my second play Thru. as for the VIP lounge I have not noticed any changes with heat or favtion rumors. I am sorry if I sound arrogant or disrespectful I do not mean too. again thank you for all your advice and veteran experience. I have learned a lot!

I am sorry if I sound arrogant or disrespectful I do not mean too. again thank you for all your advice and veteran experience. I have learned a lot! You would be happier with a computer with 3 or 4 job slots. I am suggesting that you look for one. The only thing that heat has to do with reputation is that bad rep adds to heat and good rep subtracts from heat in the zone you are in, based on who owns it. You should be trying to set your all over the NBZ heat down to 0. As in forget about the heat in the zone you are in, as being utterly boring and uninteresting to you, and then concentrate on making your overall heat in the NBZ down to 0. That is the figure in the brackets. Once that has happened, concentrate on getting a positive rep (green) with Streets and Los V. You do this by working for them. The important thing you have missed if you did not go to Black Row is buying a cyan glove. If you do not own one you can buy it in Old Kenmore at Back Bay Importers. Indeed the one sold there is nicer than the one you can get in Black Row. If after spending the day in a VIP lounge listening to rumours your haven't received any rumours then you probably aren't pressing the 'Listen' button. You 'Listen' buy a drink and then 'Listen' again. If after spending the day in the VIP lounge your heat -- not your rep, but your all around the NBZ heat -- has not gone down then you have been hanging out in a VIP lounge in a zone that is having a heat wave. You cannot lose heat in a zone in a heatwave, so pick a VIP lounge someplace else that isn't having one. Does this make sense?

Has been a while but last time I played through MnB I purposely worked enough with streets & los v so I d be able to get kings v chip through cava but to no avail - just had to do more work to get the next reward in the sequence. Has this changed in any future updates? Also noticed less v chips in the tunnels, as I like to get most stats to 4 & attributes to 6 on hard or above before heading to the surface.

You still cannot get King's chip via Cava Saint if you play MnB.
The entire encounter system has been rewritten, and what that means for chip availability I do not know. It is too soon to tell, as the new Google play release only arrived (for me at any rate) early this morning. I haven't played MnB with the new system yet.

MnB currently has a pretty simple set of Encounters that will look familiar from the previous system (straight ports). They are on our list to spruce up.

You might wish to look at the targets down in the tunnels as my first assassination target killed my sniper by hitting him for 5. This took my Noob sniper from 3 hp to - 2.

Swami - thanks, will take a look! Sounds like a battle issue and not an Encounter problem.
