Today I won a battle with Javat pirates and lost rank with this faction. Is it right or not?
I don't want You Cory to feel that I keep on crying about the ranks I lost . Is it becasue of the area? For example, defeating Cadar pirates on Cadar space causes rank lost, but taking them down on Thulun space wouldn't harm my officer reputation? Or is it because of some rumor I've missed?

All depends on the game -- definitely possible if you are firing at Javat ships to loose Javat rank.

High level Ranks can be lost rapidly and for even the smallest infraction. At Rank 17, just failing a Contract or firing a barrage will cause a demotion.

Ranks will go up and down -- and "winning a battle" vs. a Javat ship -- of any kind -- risks Rank loss.
