The Venus, Spawner, Pestiline names aren't good for this race, now that I think about it. Need something fungal.

Armilaria is perfect, because Armillaria ostoyae is the largest single organism on the planet. It is parasitic, it has bioluminescence. Epic monster IMO.

There are fungi that are toxic, some aromatic, some are resistant to fire, most are resistant to cold. Some are beautiful, with bioluminescence (see above) that rivals that seen on AVATAR.

In one of my stories, the race to stop is known as the Eukya. They are plant based. Their spores are tiny, and airborne, thus as the Eukya expand, so does their infestation. At the same time, they change the land (much like undead in World of Warcraft or The Xiticix from RIFTS (Palladium Books)) making it unlivable by other species. Is not that the Eukya are evil, it is just their nature.

Anyways, just a few additional thoughts

Just posted something at the SA forums' kickstarter thread, hopefully it gets some attention for you guys.

I apologize if you guys already know about this project, but I figured it's worth some notice so I'll post a big 'ol rant right here.

Recently the Trese Brothers, a small indie dev team of two, have started up a kickstarter for their next game. They are currently part time devs, making games in their spare time and building up a community of players that are pretty supportive. They make... well.. old school games for Android, and are also trying to branch out to iOS. They always upload two seperate versions of each game they make, a free to play game that is either limited scope (smaller maps) or a section of the total game that is totally playable without paying anything. The other version is the "Elite" version, which is basically the full game. As an example, Star Traders Free Is a fully playable game that you can spend a large amount of time playing without paying a dime. If you like it, however, you can go pick up Star Traders Elite which adds 400 new ships, 110 new planers, 200% rumors (sort of little side quests, trade shortages/surpluses/etc), twice as many officers (NPCs that give your ships various benefits), and extra awards/unlocks.

Their games include Star Traders, a turn based sandbox game that is a little reminiscent of EV:Nova, Templar Assault, a space hulk-esque turn based tactical warfare game and Cyber Knights, a cyberpunk RPG.

All of their games are deep and have pretty steep learning curves, but if you get into them they are really fun. The main thing that sets the Trese Brothers apart from other devs in my mind is the amount of care they have for each of their games. They have forums where, admittedly, just a few of their players post feedback about the games. The brothers will listen to everything and if they think something is a good idea will work to implement it ASAP. I'm not exaggerating when I say that these guys update their games 2-3 times a week at minimum, it's actually at the point where people complain that the games are being updated too much. You can really tell that they enjoy making these games and are putting their money where their mouth is to try to make great old school RPGS.

Anyways, the main point of this post is to expose you guys to their kickstarter for their 4th game Heroes of Steel. They are trying to expand their talents into a more story driven Fantasy RPG, and have actually already passed their goal and are fully funded. Currently they are working on achieving their stretch goals, the next of which is at 20kUSD and is focused on them expanding their programming potential to open this game, and their future games, on different platforms. If you are interested in old school RPGs I'd highly recommend going over to their kickstarter, linked here and checking them out. I've backed them and hope that some of you guys will at least consider it. If you haven't heard of them or their games the links I included up there are to all of the free versions of their games, so check them out and see if you like them. One item that I feel should be disclosed is this, and it's a doozy. Backing this project does not give you a copy of the game. According to the Trese Brothers they are unable to provide copies of their game at this time, although the do say that if they are able to secure some way to give away the game for free through google play or the like they will provide all backers of more than $10 a free copy of the Elite version. Once again, backing at this time does not give you a copy of the game.

Thanks for reading this long stream of words and hope that at least one or two of you guys find the Trese Brothers interesting.

Can you add a line saying that at $2.99 a game, it is not as if 'a free copy of the game' is that valuable a reward compared with games that cost an order of magnitude more ... it is much less than my weekly beer budget, for instance.

Think the wording is ok? I just don't want someone investing $5 or 10 or whatever amount of money into this and getting upset at me because they felt like I misled them.
