slayernz - it is exactly that -- wanting to insure that there are deadlines that we can meet without a doubt. @starfixer - it is really important for a KickStarter to focus on the project on hand. Everyone who is new (and we can't do this with the existing community alone) would be confused by CK / ST awards, and it would draw away from the main project. Thanks! There are people who aren't part of this community that helped your kickstarter? Have you done advertising? Also, it could be an alternative maybe, or both like the unlock code for HOS being an ST code as well, something that wouldn't be said on that page but on this forum/ST fb page for star traders fans to see Will you considder it?

@starfixer - more than 50% of the current funding from the project has come from source outside the forum. If you read about how KickStarter works, you'll find that its all about -the project- and not to be used as a wider platform for money gathering.
This is the Heroes of Steel KickStarter! Thanks to everyone who is helping!

grävling - I bow down to the badger queen Thanks so much! The thing is, I think I have _already_ got my money's worth. We'll just not tell KS that.

Not on the forums as much as I'd like to be. But I did see this on your Facebook Page and thought it was cool. I've never done a kickstarter before but I can't think of a better project to start with. I'll be getting some cool stuff for being a backer. You can choice a little as a $1 up to $1,000 ($2,000 slots are sold-out) but I went with what I could afford. I went with the $200 level / package getting a T-Shirt, Digital Artbook access to the Alpha, and unlocks to other stuff. You really need to take a look at the kickstarter link. Also lots of good info about the game too If nothing else everyone should donate & get access to the Alpha it was cheap and that will help Cory & Andrew out a lot. Hope this doesn't sound to preachy or pushy but it's very exciting I think !!! Just trying to return some of the help & support that we have gotten in the past 2 years and will keep getting for many many many more years to come

nemo - great to see you on the forum, and thank you very much for your support, in its many forms. We will be posting an update tonight on the KickStarter page that will help clarify a lot of questions people have had about the game play, so we hope that gets more people on board. Welcome to the Alpha Tester crew! This is going to be good!!!

grävling, I am sooooooooo envious of your backing donation! I'm saving up for another reward, but have to convince my wife (aka the CFO). We've just bought a house, so the CFO is extra tight with funds. I'm pleased as punch at the response though ... focusing squarely at the $40k mark! ... why? Because Apple are like Steel Song - arrogant, over-confident, and tend to deliver shiny bits and pieces that are less useful than they seem at first glance.,

Well, when I broke my thumb, I had to cancel my month-long kayaking vacation in New Zealand. (Grrr, I have been planning this for _years_!) It did leave some money hanging around, though.
What I would really like to see happen is that Cory and Fallen get to experience every artist's dream -- to get to quit the day job. (If they want to. Some people get inspiration from their day jobs for their art, so only want to reduce the hours.) I am not sure if that can happen, but that is the sort of goal I would like to help make happen.

Thanks to all of our backers. We are really proud to have 40 people who want to see us make Heroes of Steel! Thanks again to everyone who is backing us in the ways that they can -- from giving a small $1 donation to telling all your friends and network about a project you hope to see successful!
