So I met the Narvidians for the first time!

Ironically in the process of registering to ask about meeting these critters, my first 'alien' encounter incurs!....

I'd heard of these Narvidians already and dug out what seemed like half a continent of artifacts over the years and hadn't seem hide nor hair of them. Steeling myself for a good challenge I wasn't disappointed!

50 in all stats and a nasty habit of dodging everything I fired at them (including crew members by the end of the encounter!) - they were a tough cookie to crack.

But crack the hull did, in a glorious display of the Sword Frigate...thing, all 250 crew fought valiantly for humanity and how many survived I hear you ask...... THREE!!!

But I did not despair, for an alien ship much be bursting with alien tech right? RIGHT? i eagerly get to the next screen and hammer that "Cargo" button to see what splendid goodies are in my grasp! to find 3 Water-fuel...I actually said "WHAT!?" out loud and limped back to port to consume my bodies weight in spice and vudka....


Still - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger I s'pose!

Phew - going for a lie down now. How have other Captains fared against this Alien scourge, infesting the very galaxy that we inhabit!?

Killed my first alien craft, limped two squares to an urban world, and got hulled by a Rychart pirate. Blood in the water, indeed!

Same here.
I've destoyed my first alien ship in a bloody hand to hand fight. Couple squares later I've got ambushed by another alien!
Almost made it ... but didn't
I've got 5 characters reaching lvl 10, not encountering single alien, then 2 aliens in a row. Obviously I didn't invest in a "luck" skill enough points

If you entered an Alien Rumor Zone ... they follow you. Alien Rumor Zones are terrible. Possibly worse than double radiation storms.

There is a new officer coming out this weekend, the Veteran who knows a lot about the Alien.

One of his key abilities is to contact certain Faction parties who pay top dollar for the salvage rights.

The 50 all is called the Narvidian fighter and the Veteran (before difficulty and level) can get around $416,669 in salvage for one.
