Dogs, husband, reading and work. I really like your order of importance Lesleyr When I'm not playing TA, I'm working to get paid so that my money can get sucked out of my account by all the fixit projects I have on that place I have recently co-purchased with the bank. What little money remains goes on the wife, the kids, and Coke (the Cola type not the party-till-your-feet-fall-off type). Each night after I finish work, I go home, cook/eat/do-family-stuff, then am busy scraping, hammering, screwing (again, the sharp pointy metal things in walls type, not the recreational but immensely enjoyable type).

johndramey, I have been hunting and gathering since I was five years old. It is a family tradition going back many generations. My 3x great grandmother lived to be 106 years old and until the day she died she could still name every plant, what it was good for, and how to use it. what was not taught to me by family or friends, I learned on my own be reading and watching nature shows.

I am glad you clarified that. Otherwise some of us might have been tempted to tell you that 'screwing' was 'do-family-stuff' of the first order. Those of us who normally speak languages where 'to do' and 'to make' is the very same verb would be especially tempted.

ntsheep, Amazing. I grew up in Hawaii so we didn't really have a lot of hunting/gathering that could be done. I'll admit to sneaking into the coffee fields when I was young and stealing coffee beans as well as eating coconuts when at the beach, but that's pretty much it. Mind if I ask where around you live? I have a plan to eventually retire back to the US, and it would be nice to know someplace with actual nature to go to.

johndramey, Belleville IL (Midwest US) is where I call home at the moment. As a young kid we raided the corn fields, the more rambunctious of us made cow tipping raids. Hawaii has a lot to offer, there is wild boar, hundreds of useful plants, not too mention all the great seafood. As Bamf 'DE Elise said nature is everywhere. What you can get just depends on your location. Try hanging out at the local markets where you are now. The Asian countries have some of the best traditions when it come to plant harvesting for food\medicine. One thing I find neat is that parts of China and the southeastern US have the exact same plant types. They say this is due to the fact the land masses were once connected. Learning how to live with\from nature is not as hard as most people think. Like any thing worth while it just takes time and patience.

Since this is talking about our outside activities and I live in a foreign country with no one to brag to..... Yesterday I was doing my marathon training and I thought to myself, "Hey, John, I wonder how fast you can run your 10k nowadays?" So I decided to test it. I was doing a relatively short (as far as the training goes) 1 hour run, and that's pretty much ideal for a warm-up -> 10k -> cool-down run. Decided to push myself as much as I could and maintain the full training course. Well, I managed to pull a 40 minute 40 second 10k. I'll be the first to admit this is no amazing feat, a lot of serious runners will be able to trounce my time, but I was pleased with myself. So, here's proof of my personal best time. First 2k were warm-ups, last 2.22k were cool-downs.

Nice work! I'd be lucky to run 1 km in your total time, LOL.

I sometimes bug the Brothers by email and IM, with ideas, edits, and lengthy questionnaires!

Family, work, EvE online (ZOMG the guilty pleasure that has become)
EvE makes me think of ST RPG so much that I am a Caldari. I love Missioning and Trade Hauling. I wonder why?
