1) I doubt I'm the only person who thinks the icons system is a little flawed. Of utmost priority to me, is that you cannot tell where the data terminals are (except of course for the obvious ONE terminal at any given place). I love the game but it is a game and I do not particularly want to memorize which buildings in which zones have a terminal I can use to call a cab or connector are.
2) The Indicator system, to my limited play time (4 chars none more than 50 xp) are to my knowledge not explained thoroughly. I found out that the little feet mean you're "being followed" by accident after reading about it here. I'm still trying to see if I'm right about the two red "talk bubbles" meaning that there's a "heat wave". Maybe they explained that near the end of MnB but I got tired of figuring things out in MnB five runs before it was explained (no offense to the tutorial I'm just that kind of person I explore it until I get it).
3) A final note. I love your games and have purchased all three of them, that I know of, for my droid and I do not want it to be misconstrued that I think the game is flawed. Far and away MOST things work exceptionally well and are streamlined for efficacy and usability. I think that these two things are all that I've discovered and for an autistic who's got OCD that's an impressive statement.

I pretty much agree with you on #1 with one caveat, I would still like some buildings to have some secrets. If every building was clearly marked with everything that was inside you would have no incentive to go exploring around. As it is I tend to ignore most buildings that aren't clearly marked or used as destinations in jobs, but I think it would totally remove all exploration if you were able to see what each building contained purely from the map. Maybe have each buildings main purpose be listed on the map icon? I'm not sure how to strike a balance, but there must be one out there.

The 2 red talk bubbles means that there are rumours. This is brand new in the game and may have bugs. (I, at least, am seeing them places where I don't know any rumours.)
To find out what the icons mean, tap on that spot in the HUD. The right hand corner will stop saying the name of the zone you are in and will say things like : "We are being followed by an unknown party." and "We are low in ammo." and the like.

Thanks Gravling dunno how I missed that one. I suppose I need to remove number two. In place of it though is this. I've notice a gap in the available weapons. There is definitely a space for a high ammo capacity, low range weapon; say, a semi-auto shotgun kind of weapon (mostly to fill the Female II's low range gap). I'm thinking, something like this: power 4+, penetration 4+, accuracy <whatever works>, ammo 10+, ammo type Heavy, range 3, AP 3-4, speed 2+. The point is to have moderate damage in the 2-4 squares range with some speed. The cost is that it uses heavy ammo but doesn't give Panther Cannon type damages, some of which is converted into ammo the rest of which is converted into speed. I don't know what the game balance of such a weapon would be, that's why some of the categories are so broad in range. Basically, so you can have a weapon that you can move and fire with in mid range that doesn't run out of ammo fast, but will still hurt a drone that just won't fall back after you've taken the other pesky drone out. Such weapons already exist today, so I can't imagine a cyberpunk world NOT having such.
A final note, as far as the icons go is MOSTLY data terminals and connectors (not necessarily all connectors). I'm definitely FOR secrets in the buildings but I don't think that data terminals or the majority of connectors should be secrets, barons SURE! bosses heck ya! The phone nope! The people who WANT to hire you NOPE!

Re weapons: Have you tried using the mk251 Bounty for that purpose? Power: 5 Penetration : 6 Accuracy: 5 Ammo: 5 Auto Range: 6 AP: 4 Speed: 2 Y 1700. From Bay Bay Importers in Old Kenmore, among other places. The high accuracy means that you can start nailing targets at range 2 and 3 with firearms of 5 or even 4 -- and it works at range too. Doesn't have the bullet capacity you want, but maybe when the "workshop for your safehouse" is finished we can make one that holds more bullets. I'm trying to imagine what a handgun that could carry 10 heavy rounds would look like, and the image of an elephant keeps interrupting me. Or a handgun the size of a watermelon ... Of course since Fallen has never actually made art for 'what does a cyberloader look like', I may be way off here. But it is an interesting idea.

@onxydrakkenblade - welcome to the forum!
On #1, is the "flaw" that we only show a single icon per building? Therefore, somewhere like the Bungalow sells Weapons (which its icon) but also have a Connector, important NPC, armor shop, and item shop? Just trying to make sure I understand, but I don't think there are any "secret" buildings that have phones and Connectors -- they at least show up on the map listing.
On #2, this alert system is flawed. We are in a slow process to "rebuild the HUD" and that section will get a revamp at some point down the line.
On your #3, I have created ticket #CK-1086 for us to look at the weapon type you suggested and see if it balances in.
Thanks and welcome!

fallen I am making a guess here, but I do think that onyxdrakkenblade is referring to the fact that the game only shows one icon per building. Many buildings ALONG with their primary function(as defined by yourself and Cory) have other features which are nice to know about(doctor, phone, etc.) As of now, the only way to know about them is to visit and see and then remember where those nice features are as the game doesn't tell you otherwise.

Composite icons don't really help (see Backroom) ... perhaps a list of smaller icons under the name that indicate all the services the building provides? This might really be a problem on smaller phones.

If the HUD is moving to having floating menus that popup when you touch-over (akin to mouse-over) an item, then listing everything that is found inside a building could happen then.

@onyx my close range weapon of choice is the good version of the: Security Defender Mars Corp Power 6 Penetration 6 Accuracy 2 Ammo 5 Heavy Range 3 AP 3 Speed 2 ¥ 1300
As Grävling suggests, future additions to the game may allow us to upgrade the Ammo capacity.

grävling - hiding information like that in a touch-over still feels like you'd have to memorize?

Not to me. Aha, I am in a strange neighbourhood and I need to buy bullets. touch over every store and find out which ones are selling miscellaneous equipment. Go there. Ok, now I need a taxi out of here. Where are the phones?! touch over and find one in the building next door. Phew. Let's go call Jennings from there ...

Okay, 1) the flaw is that the ONLY way to find out what is in the buildings, is to walk into them or to app switch to my Web browser to go here docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Auow7FdFfU-LdG1ldzIxeTJ1RTRVeGJGeE8wTkJXVGc. Touch over is good, improved icons is even better, BOTH is SCHMEXY(yes you can laugh now). It's mostly about data terminals and, now that it's been mentioned doctors and connectors. All of these are either crucial to running, so the character would remember them (wash over the first time in a zone ), or they are people who would Want CKs knocking on their doors. Doc: who could love CKs more, lots of money take damage all the time. Connectors are identified in game by their desire to work with CKs, and terminals are the heart-blood of CK work. Heel I'd be happy if there were neon signs on the buildings, telling me (or showing me, as the case might be) what's available inside. Then I could scroll around and look at the buildings for what I need. This even feels like it's in keeping with what's already there, like the GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! signs. There just needs to be some consistency and a legend for the players. 2)ever since Gravling told me not to be stupid and to tap the icon this hasn't been nearly as bad for me, but it is still flawed or at least weaker than I would desire. 3) With my gunslinger I'm working a long/short range set up. My current (although possibly changing soon, in light of my better stats) long range is the MXDefender. The mk251 is a nicefun but the range is the thing here. You could have a firearms skill of 9 canceled out entirely by shooting at a target 3 spaces out of your optimal. Or half that at 2 spaces. I'm currently using the SR17, which I prefer over the security defender. The goal of the weapon is this: range has to be 2 or 3. AP needs to be 3 or less, and the ammo to speed ratio is probably at least as important as the others, probably more so. You need to be able to fire at least three full rounds without reloading five would be optimal. As far as I'm concerned you could have either power OR speed, but power seems to fit the concept, of an auto shotgun better or a balance between them leaning to power. fallen the touch over is better than walking by far. As far as the icons go, there is only ONE business icon I've seen that tells me there is a phone(data terminal) inside the building, and that is The Laughing Dog (Bar). P.S.: I'm good at writing novels to address my points huh?

onyxdrakkenblade - I have summed up the feedback on #1 and #2 into #CK-1113. We'll get there!
