Hi all. I just have a few questions regarding the game and my future plans.
1. I now have 151+ Rep to all Syndicates and have unlocked Syndicate Hero achievement.
It says Unlock Ships of Power by completing it on Difficulty Crazy.
My question is, does this mean I wont be able to get the Ship of Power since I unlocked it in Demanding difficulty? And, what is this Ship of Power? Is it the same with the Honor of Thulun that I keep hearing about? Or is it a different ship with specs at par with the Cadar Flagship?
2. Is the Cadar Flagship enough to combat aliens? If it is, do I need to get another one since I upgraded it to mostly Strategic enhancements like: Ancient Reactors (+6 Engines), Escape Shuttle, Water Fuel Tank, Titan Engines (+5 Engines) and Torpedo Control Pods?
3. Is there a much more powerful ship than the Flagships?
And lastly,
4. Can you capture alien ships?
Thanks in advance.
BTW, if it might help, here's my captain's stats:
Level 15 Charisma: 9 Wisdom: 11 Quickness: 30 Strength: 9
Skills: Explorer: 9 Pilot: 20 Negotiate: 1 Tactics: 9 Stealth: 15 Warrior: 7 Intimidate: 9
Again, thanks...

I can't help with the more tactical questions such as stats and the like, but the unlocks are global and can only be unlocked at the difficulty listed and above. Meaning, you won't be able to get the ships of honor with your current captain. However, when you start a new captain you will have all the benefits of every unlock you've earned every time.
I don't have the ships of honor and the like unlocked, but from what I can gather they are simply more powerful ships that you can purchase and the enemy captains can use. So, adding more content to the game, but not necessary.
Hope this helps, and I'm sure the other, more knowledgeable, posters can come in here and help you with the other stuff!

I searched in google about Ships of Power and it gave me a link to this board with such subject. So yes, I can only get that ship in Crazy difficulty.
It took me a long time to to get to where I am now in Demanding, it seems I still have to go through hell to get the ship of power.
Follow up question regarding this:
If I was able to unlock the ship in Crazy, would it be available when I go back to my previous (current) captain?
Thanks...

themarkov - if you unlock it with a captain on the proper difficulty (Crazy), then any other captain in the game can now gain that benefit (including your one on Demanding). Good luck!

themarkov welcome to the forum. Ships of honor/power are not necessarily hugely superior to other ships. They're good but not the best. The advantage of them is that they're always available and are generally cheap for their specs, so they can be really helpful second ships. Flagships are also not necessarily the best ships out there either. It all depends on strategy and how you've allocated xp. A flagship at level 15 may be a real water-fuel hog which will make it hard to use. Also I see you've been drinking heavily from the Cadar Koolaid that gets passed around here a bit too liberally. Sigh. Hopefully you'll out-grow that.

something i like to do is start on challenging(or demanding if you are feeling froggy) and merely unlock everything you can for that difficulty and then move forward. Escape shuttle and water fuel tanks are a must for me to get down on Crazy on any good terms lol

2. Maybe and Maybe. As answered elsewhere in this thread, it depends on your play style and a bit of luck. Having high warrior and crew-engines count greatly increases your chances of survival. 3. In Free? No. In Elite? Depends on what you mean by "much more powerful" but I'm going to say 'yes.' 4. No. We all wish we could. [/ul]
