The War Hero competition had too many restrictions, and slayernz's was too complicated.
I voted "Yes. Want more.", but I would also like to see other simple and fun challenges like this.
One thing I was thinking was everyone creates a character on Impossible, and the last man standing (whoever dies at the latest turn) wins. You can only restart, though, before level 15. No other rules.

Actually, I was thinking that the next challenge should be a CK one - there are so many excellent CK players out there who would leap at trying out some different strategy as a challenge. Me, am not skilled at CK, so would not be able to set the challenge, but others can surely step up. Also, in terms of complexity, nothing is set in stone - challenges are, at the very heart of it, meant to be fun. If the rules end up being too complex, then we should certainly scale them back. I'm still secretly pushing for the "first one to get Steel Song down to -20,000 RP with a new character" challenge ... that should be about as simple as you get

CK idea: Enforcer
Goal: Gain 200 reputation with all three security agencies. Gain -200 with all three gangs and Free Streets
(Possible)Rules: No doing jobs for gangs after one weeks time. Game ends at five? Six? weeks (need feedback) Must take all assassinations and capture missions given Scoring: Combined reputation with Security+Credits-Gang reputation. Bonus points for finishing Yakuza or BraveStar ladders.
Its not very detailed. Does any one like it?

I like the idea of a CK challenge and would be willing to take part. Hell, even a TA challenge would be a lot of fun.
Your idea seems pretty good, ncaoa, but I'm not exactly sure how long a week is in game or how to raise rep aside from doing jobs for the factions. Does simply killing other factions goons raise rep? Either way, I'd be down.
I could arrange everything for the next challenge if no one else wants to deal with it. Obviously we would all decide on a game and a challenge, but I can set up the thread and deal with posting all the results when it's over.

Cool. I'm happy to do the next ST challenge, but it made sense to expand the fun to other TB games

I haven't ever played CK or TA, but if the challenge is open to newbies, I'm in.

I'm rated as Newbie for CK - I last really played when it was version 0.27 or something nuts like that

It might not be a good idea for a Newbie to be creating a challenge for CK. I feel like you need a pretty good overall understanding of all the dynamics to make a challenge that's simple, clear, challenging and fun. But maybe someone like Grävling could pull it together if she likes the idea.

Oh, I meant "I'm in" for joining the challenge, not hosting it, lol...

Thanks everyone. contributor: I resent the newbie comment. Unless it was at slayernz The challenge there was just an example. Not very well thought out. The reason for the times is that in CK, building up base stats isn't like in ST. Not saying its harder, but if you don't have an understanding of the system its a big disadvantage in a challenge. The free week with the gangs is ment for you to uses their easier missions to build up Xp and money to operate in security agency territory without getting shredded. Gravling made a great thread for early distribution: startradersrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ckrpgtalk&action=display&thread=2569 It would really be great if someone like Gravling was to make the challenge. I'm certain she would make a much deeper one.

johndramey: Yea. There are few better options for increasing Rep than jobs. Hacking is a big one. If you have the money and good negotiation, you can buy a factions weapons from non faction vendors and sell them to them in shortages. This gives Rep. Ex: Yakashima has a weapon shortage Buy Yakashima shock gloves from Backbay Importers Go to Yak back room Find a fence and sell

ncaoa, I was talking about slayernz initiating a CK challenge. I actually haven't played much CK at all and don't have the elite version of it. It sounds like you have a pretty good grasp on the essentials that would make for a good challenge.

contributor:Thank you. I wish CK tracked more stats like ST. It would give a lot more options for a contest. I was kidding when I said that.
