I still think having some kind of weapon limited challenge for CK would be a good starting point. I was originally thinking that an assassination kidnapping based knight would be a little fun, but then it would be easy for the pros to outstrip the amateurs due to their knowledge of the connectors and who is more likely to be giving out the jobs.
Something about that revolver though, a cowboy challenge would be fun. I just don't really know how to go about making one. I'll keep pondering it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. My creativity fits in a thimble.

I like the Revolver idea. Also inspires my to suggest a dual pistol lone captain TA challenge. Though I like CK more. About connectors, perhaps as part of the challenge you are only allowed to take assassinations/kidnappings from certain connectors. I know the Black Rose in Finnian territory gives cheap 100 cred assassinations against Streets. Crappy pay, but easy kill.

Glad you like it. We can discuss it more in a bit, but I just wanted to copy/paste some ideas grävling had. We've been messaging back and forth about a CK challenge since, for my money, grävling is our resident CK expert. Here are the thoughts so far: There are several challenges that are conceptually very simple. 'Only do jobs for faction X'. This is quite feasible for any of the Gangers, and Streets. (It's actually a fair bit of fun for Streets). Pick a date -- July 1 for instance -- and whoever has the most cash on hand wins. It's difficult to do for KH or BS, and it is impossible to do for long for Aztek, Yakashima or Mars. So for the last 3, it would very much be 'post the time you died'. Longest running Knight wins. 'How quickly can you raise 100K?' is another good one. The Face challenge is also fairly straightforward. Only take Negotiate and Threaten jobs. The Yakuza have a great many of these, but getting them mostly requires getting into their VIP rooms, which is a challenge when you cannot take regular connector jobs. It helps to build a rich custom character for this challenge, as available money is the limiting factor on this one. Having the right chips drop on you is also going to be necessary. The Assassin challenge 'only take assasintate missions' and the Kidnapper challenge 'only take capture missions' are quite do-able, again assuming you get the right chips in drops. The Escort challenge (only do escorts) is easy to do, but a bit boring. I don't have any good ideas for the agent X challenge. Maybe nothing but data courier and message delivery? Hacking is quite new and under constant change -- talk to somebody who has been playing a lot of CK recently to get an idea as to what is a challenge. So the way those 'I super specialise in onely one sort of job' challenges should run is that you have until I certain amount of time (March 15, say) to do whatever jobs you want and collect chips, and from then on you can only do <whatever>. more thoughts as I have them. If there is a thread this should be in, please paste the whole lot in there where it belongs. The 'I'm just a Messenger' challenge could be very interesting. Only do message and package delivery missions. The good news is that you will have lots of XP. The bad news is that you will be stone cold broke all the time, and not be able to buy much in the way of gear. How soon before this pacifism just means you get a fight you cannot handle?

Today is Sweden's National Day, the 6th of June. Since it falls on a Thursday if you take a vacation day of Friday you get a 4 day weekend. I'm leaving for the sea now. Next time I will be around here is Monday. Take care now. paddle paddle paddle

Woohoo - good paddling Gravling. I'm keen to have next week's challenge based on CK, where you are only allowed to do message/delivery missions. However, I don't know the game very well, so need some CK experts to step up and put the meat to this challenge. We've got 4 or 5 days till the challenge begins, but we need to have the details nailed down before the start

I'm pretty busy today, but if I can get some time I'll sit down and try to flesh out a challenge using the courier missions. I'm by no means a CK pro, but I think I know enough to set up that kind of relatively simple challenge.

Would like to suggest this thread be moved to the general forum if possible.
We're talking about and planning challenges for all 3 TB games so having it hidden in the ST forum means some potential participants might miss it if they don't play/check out the ST forums.

Nice idea xdesperado, and thanks slayernz for doing it. It's been an awesomely busy day at work, so I haven't had a chance to sit down and flesh out the challenge yet. I'll try to get it done tonight, but don't hold me to it. It's Friday night and I'll probably be going out for a couple beers after work.

Ok everyone, so I thought about the challenge over the weekend and came up with..... something. I'm not sure what everyone will think about it, and maybe some of the more experienced CK players can critique it a bit, but I think it should be a workable challenge. Basically it'll be a simple "make the most money" type of challenge in CK.
As with our ST challenge we'll have two different tiers of challenge.
Runner level will be played at Normal difficulty Knight level will be played at Crazy difficulty
The meat of the challenge is this. We'll be sticking with the three "gangs" on the southern coast of the NBZ and be using Data courier jobs as our main money making tool. We'll run the challenge for x amount of time (not sure about how long it should run yet) and, after the time limit, will simply get your total score by the amount of money you have divided by y plus the rep with your chosen gang.
I was thinking of scaling the division point on the money so that runners and knights can compete, meaning maybe divide the runner's money by 1000 and the knight's money by 750 or 500. This will give the knights a boost to their total score, allowing them to get the same score for 1/2 or 3/4 the work. This will, of course, be offset by the raise in danger level for the knights.
So what does everyone think? If people think it is cool then I can start to set up the post and hopefully we can get this challenge rolling!

Do you mean regular message deliveries or actually mean just Data Courier jobs which require cyber implants and spending time in back rooms?

To be honest I was thinking of opening it to message deliveries, data courier jobs, and pick up/deliver jobs. Basically anything non-combat related. It would allow people to be a little free in their choices of jobs while giving some buffer to prevent a situation where you cannot get any of a specific job from the connectors.

As our scoring faction. Anyway, very nice. (Though no Brutal ) lol

We could push Knight to Brutal, cause that's what I play at anyway, but I thought we should try to have it accessible to most people. Although maybe Knights being brutal would allow for a $/500 without seeming too much?
Also, I was thinking the Fens, Los V, and Streets would be the factions to choose from.
