Fallen, I appreciate very much that you have been improving the art for CK one character class at a time.
Here is what I hope is taken as a gentle reminder that
the building art needs updating more than the chars do, right now.

You mean the map tiles? Which buildings?

You mean the map tiles? Which buildings? All of the buildings in CK lack perspective, shading, and look, frankly, like they were drawn with some post-modern colours-allowed Etch-A-Sketch.

While I don't believe fallens style needs any changing at all, I agree about the buildings.

Lol, I think I will try to take that as a compliment to my Etch-A-Sketch skills! Due to the perspective ("an impossible POV used for early FF games and others in that era") that is built into the game, it is not possible to change the angle on the buildings. I agree some of the tiles could be enhanced and will consider it for a future item. From my POV, the art used for game buttons, character and NPC faces is the most important art to update.

I agree some of the tiles could be enhanced and will consider it for a future item. From my POV, the art used for game buttons, character and NPC faces is the most important art to update. Yes, this is what I thought, which is why I wanted to mention this. As I show CK to new players, while every aspect of art, as usual can stand improving, I do not hear anybody saying that the old buttons were so butt-ugly they do not wish to play the game. The buildings, yes, I hear that about them all the time. There is a limit to what you can get in 2 and a half d projections, as this game is using, but the buildings here often have precisely 2 dimentions -- they are completely 'head on' perspective -- mr Flatland as you might think of them. So while, of course, I am happy to see that your art is getting better in all aspects, I just wanted to point out that the buildings are detracting from sales far more than the buttons are. At least that is what my informal customer survey of 'why don't my friends who play android games play CK' reveals. best, Grävling

grävling - thanks for the feedback and the informal survey, I will definitely take it into account. The "Mr Flatland" perspective was modeled after the town perspectives used in classic games like Shining Force, FF 2 and 3 and others from that era. Without refactoring every map, that "Mr Flatland" can't be changed. Just giving you the facts Appreciate your feedback and I will investigate what can be done about the buildings and the rest of the tileset too.

I guess that's another good thing about HoS's top down perspective. That, and TA style combat ^_^
