how do the merchant and smuggler bonuses work? And is there a difference between the political negotiation bonus and the tradesman negotiation bonus? Like maybe political helps negotiate more for non exchange rolls?

- New Officer Bonus: Mechanic 10% Solar Sail Repair Discount - New Officer Bonus: Improved Trade Officer, New Negotiation Bonus - New Harvest Bonus: Merchant Gold Rush - New Harvest Bonus: Smuggler Gold Rush Are these (and similar) bonuses documented / shown anywhere? Or will you get a toast telling you? Because if not, it is really a pity. For example the Mechanic bonus. Nobody playing the game would really notice by himself that he just got 10% discount. And even if he notices, he has no way to recognize that it is the Officer who gives this bonus. The real Captain would of course notice that his mate gets him a better deal on the repairs. IMHO the game mechanic which cannot be noticed and recognized by a player is not going to be appreciated by a player. And that is a pity as it hides the game depth from players. Just my 2¢.

Hi Cory,
First time posting here. Been playing ST and STE for about a year, and I really have a bone to pick with you: Its called SLEEP DEPRIVATION!!! Well, okay, maybe that's my fault. I work for a government, and I travel 2 weeks of the month on average, so I have to tell you between reading and Star Trader, 9-11 hour flights just get sucked up into the cosmic void. Thank you so much for that. Okay, so here's my (possibly dumb) question:
I have a Kindle Fire HD. The game is at 5.0.41. It has a few little things, like easier nav, the Take ALL option, the fuel consumption and red / green reports that the iPad version still 4.x do not have. I like my new iPad better for the speed, graphics and better screen. I like the way it plays on the Kindle better.
Is there a planned update to the IOS version? Any time line?
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere and I'm wasting your dev time; in that case consider it fan mail.
The only thing is, you may cost me ANOTHER $300 to buy an 8" Kindle.
Cheers,
Dr. Geoff

Great points. I will see what I can come up with, but I agree with your theme. Since we are on that topic, I just got a Scout officer for the first time last week and noticed popups when he guards captain/crew from damage. I thought this is pretty cool and really make it feel like the officer is worth something to keep around. Can you implement the same for when the Bodyguard prevents damage in combat?

Created ST #1605 to add that alert.

Cheers, Dr. Geoff Thanks for playing and posting. Happy to have you enjoying either iOS or Android editions -- sounds like you're enjoying both occasionally. We are working on bringing iPhone and iPad experience up to par with the Android version of the game -- it isn't there yet. Star Traders RPG on Android has had 2 years of tweaks and enhancements and the iOS version is playing catch up. I am confident that we will get to a future update to the iOS version that makes them equal. In the meantime, we'll keep releasing updates for both Android and iOS. The next iOS update is probably a week away and will include improvements, features and content recently added to the Android version. Thanks again. -Cory
