Hiya, If you win the award "Big Tent", the Torpedo Cargo Pod upgrade is unlocked. However, I haven't seen this upgrade anywhere. For awards that relate to an upgrade that hasn't yet been created, it's normally flagged "Unlocks Future Upgrade", but the Big Tent award is not like that. So ... how do you get the TCP's?  |

They are an upgrade in the missiles section that adds a +8 cargo and some torp defense

The pods are covered in a layer of giant hats.

They're Cargo Pods, attached to the outside of the ship and are constructed out of a specular diffusion holo-matrix that deflects torpedo explosions.
They have the lowest cargo bonus, which is (in theory) made up for somewhat by the defensive bonuses.

Awww, I was hoping that I'd be able to carry more torps than I have launchers (using the extra cargo space) ... oh well. |

How about a rumor on the lines of:
"Storing torps in the cargo bay instead of the shielded torpedo pods is a horrible idea, the burst of radiation from the engine startup will detonate them. There was some guy who tried that once, and on takeoff the brand new Freighter he just bought became scrap metal for the salvage team."

So...torpedoes have to be manufactured at each star dock? Or does the ship that delivers them have a hold that's just made of dozens of torpedo tubes?
My Cadar Zealot wants that ship. It's a brick, but it's a brick full of torpedoes.

Cadar Torps are delivered by massive meta-torpedoes.
Also I would think that torpedoes are carried in a partially disassembled form.
