spike -- I think that is probably a bit of a bug. The game should be at least smart enough to not give you more records for the "buy-sell-buy-sell" cycle. Of course, I didn't think of doing that so there are no protections in v3.6.0 OK actually this is exploitable. Very. Maybe I just needed more Negotiation or a special situation. I sat and bought and sold Steel Song's own records back to them repeatedly. Most of the time (not every time but often enough) I created more Records than I sold. There was usually a second toast, Trade Ban Records Created. Steel Song was involved in an Alliance and a Trade War (neither with me). In the course of this one visit, and zero elapsed time, I gained 300 Rep with Steel Song, 90 XP, and about a quarter of a million credits. Without delving into the details of what happened, the simple thing to do is probably to block the award of Records for buying / selling Records. Buying and selling other stuff worked fine, there was no free lunch. Or rather, no free banquet.

Heh, try this at a Dock with a Records shortage--yesterday, I sold records for like $5K each, and that generated more records (63) than I started with (20 or so, I think). I kept doing it (but never got more than 12) a few more times, then felt guilty and stopped.

A clear lesson learned for me -- moving too fast destroys game balance =)
PS: I fixed this defect
