Sorry I have been so slow on this update, work has been killing me.
I was on the keyboard for 15 hours yesterday and I didn't get to do any Android coding, only real work. It was not fun and I'm back into Eclipse/Java today fixing ST RPG bugs and responding to e-mails. That is why there was no update yesterday, but there will be one today.
I appreciate everyone hanging in there with the bugs on v3.6.0 around Smugglers and Reputation loss.

I feel that comment is significant because it is our 20th rating of 1 star.
Out of 2060 reviews ... Thanks for all of YOUR support, fellow Forum reader.
You are the ones who have given us the ideas to keep 2040 people happy =)

I see your problem with the coding - sitting on the keyboard makes it really really hard to actually write any code.
I think we should wage a solar war against those 20 idiots that wouldn't have any clue as to what a good game is if it turned up and fired a Cadar torp at them.

Hard games aren't for everyone.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the low markers were competing developers. Are they known to play dirty with reviews?

I find that the market itself is kinda broken when it comes to criticisms. There just isn't pleasing everyone.

True I have had several obvious "@company.com" hits from other game developers.
I guess I just hoped that they would be tempted to play ... just a little bit, and fall in love.

On a side note, do you think developers should be able to e-mail / respond to comments? A lot of Android developers seem to think they should be able to, but I think it is bad idea.
If I play a game that sucks (and some of them do) and I leave a 2 star review and some critical comments ... I don't want to hear from the maker of the game. That seems like it would chill commentary.

@cory, I think you're right, developers should just take it like a man when they get negative feedback.
As there's no pleasing everyone all the time, maybe total downloads is a better metric for a an app than what is after all only the average quality rating

The metric I try to focus on is "percent of people who leave 4 or 5 star reviews"
For Star Traders Elite: 2109 Total Reviews 2007 5 or 4 Stars
I focus on getting the 4 Stars to go 5 Star and keep the 5 Stars happy.
The other 102 people, I am afraid, I ignore them. Unless the post something epic like "Try Again, Suckers"

Why you use the calender Cory? You could put an "expected" time for when an update is due, whether it is a bug fix of feature addition. That way we know when to expect an update instead of checking every day incase you have finished one.
Those are my thoughts.

sgtcookie, you can enable automatic update and then you don't have to worry. But really it's not fair to put any more pressure on the Trese Bros. Their productivity is already awesome. Personally, I'm happy to take updates when they come.

I say you grab the bad comments, put them into rumors, and let us start bar fights in the spice halls when they come up!
"Try again suckers? I'll try again...with a torpedo!" <thoom>....BADOOM! "Take that you big hatted haters!"
