The tutorial explains the rules that we used to design the game. The pricing, buy and sell system are all based on logical arrangements of economy types. Using the information in the tutorial and the world map, the players are reporting they can predict where you can buy low and sell high. That was the goal of the Merchant Tutorial. Future additional Tutorials will cover other parts of the game. Above, @starfixer is very confused about the sandbox characters -- they are not tutorials at all. Well then what about in the beginning when it explains all those buttons? What would one call that, a game intro?

Teaches the system and then gives the player an achievable goal that can be met within the system, along the way some fun will be had.

I cannot say you are wrong, and I agree -- given a larger budget and more time we could have extended the story to include less grind and more unique experiences. Hopefully the players will trust that we are dedicated to improving the game and adding new and improved elements as time goes along!

Actually, if you put it that way.... well, I think one of the main reasons I feel like commission pay is too low is specifically because I'm trying to get 50K, which I had always imagined as the next step of "progress" in the tutorial. And Sveet's general attitute makes me feel like progress is way too slow. Raising 5K to learn how to be a Merchant is fine. But raising 50K is outside of tutorial range and well into 'play this scenario' range. So have the Tutorial story end at the point where you put your son in stasis. Then the players can choose to continue this story, or do something else. If something like this was explicitly stated after you meet the pirate dude, then I would probably view the 50K as a long-term goal instead, while in the meantime I can go and explore the world. In other words it would be a lot less frustrating and feel less grindy.

Wow! 3 quotes from 3 different members in the same thread. That's impressive!

Wow! 3 quotes from 3 different members in the same thread. That's impressive! LOL... I felt like I needed their quotes to articulate what I wanted to say.
