How about moving all the extra descriptions to the cost page after you click on an upgrade and keep only the stat and bonus information on the main upgrade list? Or even move the min-max information there instead. Either way there would be much more space for flavor descriptions, and there are many upgrades that would actually need descriptions added. I like this idea.

I like this as well. It's a solution that should please everyone. Nothing will be lost, but the display is more streamlined, and can help prevent people from being overwhelmed with text. I do find it quite difficult that I have to visit the Help page to look up what Secondary Effects some upgrades have, especially boarding effects. This is especially the case because in order to get to the Help files, I have to exit the planet to pull up the menu to reach it. This is not ideal when the planet I'm on has all available upgrades, because the situation may change as soon as I leave it.

For officer and skill bonuses too I feel can be easily put in game (officer bonuses can be put under officer descriptions and skill bonuses (eg that pilot does short range combat, stealth does long range, pilot escapes enemies, pilot changes range on enemies, stealth does surveillance etc) can be put under training section. What does explore and harvest can be put in the wilderness zone menu after planetary exploration and planetary harvest descriptions. What engines, sails, hull etc des can be put after the engine, sail hull description (when repairing them in star dock or clicking on the artwork pictures in the status. It can be put that agility increases pilot skill and speed increases stealth skill in training under pilot/stealth sections. What permit, warrant, rank does can be in the palace menu on the side or in the faction menu that shows your rep and ranks with factions. What reputation does can be put somewhere as well. I can go on forever, but my point is that there's plenty of ways to shorten the info in the help and increase the info provided in-game.

I feel the descriptions are good. I want the game to be more than stats and pushing buttons. I want my steak to have sizzle.
