dayan fallen Very cool guys. Andrew I feel bad like I've dumped more on your already full plate. Looking back over this thread, this is a great idea and tie-in to ST worlds. Love the idea of someday linking it like Forum is linked. ( why isn't Patreon linked like that?) Sorry to ask again, but since you two were key in the inception, what about absorbing this into Patreon? Possible/ feasible? dayan your work rocks! Such a different feel than fallen's, it captures a different side of ST! Thanks for that. I've always tried to emulate the technology, places and equipment as well as I could. I started work on the comic way before there was a lot of official artwork and there was always big holes in the tech and history to deal with. I didn't grow up with them Or play the tabletop game they had so I filled in the gaps with whatever I felt was appropriate. I was WAY off on a lot of it, and burned myself out trying to keep anything close to the Canon. In the end, SoS is an In Name Only sort of fanfic.

dayan - always a huge fan of the work and it's been great to see your skills grow over the project. While it doesn't 100% line up, I was always happy that it did justice to the Star Traders world and feel. I hope you pick it back up someday, but understand if you don't. Now trying my hand a comic, ... crap, that's hard work! Even more props to you!

fallen Hey! My avatar is different! My captain clearly wears the emerald pride of Javat, with a determined, hard working look. dayan 's is clearly more noble-born, I'm thinking Thulun not DV though as I do feel a sense of clansmanship. :-p As to links I just meant some kind of quick click option like the link here to Forum from game menu (or to FB, blog, etc.) for Patreon and/or the Library (if it makes a come back). I'm starting to see what you mean by overload. Maybe text somewhere? "If you're enjoying ST, be sure to visit..." It might help cases like mine, a bit more old school thus noobish. Like I didn't know I could visit Patreon without joining until you told me. As to the Library, I gathered that and totally agree from reading this thread. You both have enough going on. I don't know the logistics or your overall vision behind it, but that's why I'm asking if it can be "absorbed". For example, as creative art posts on Patreon, or artist submissions as posts to you blog? Then you've got an already more developed, and invested in, platform even more fleshed out. Added bonus is new gamers see the incredible inspiration TB games engender in the community. This is a huge reason I'm as supportive as I can be of TB. I remember as I dug deeper into Forums and found these places thinking, " Wow, if people are THAT into this, I really want to be a part!" IF you're a gamer, I think you're by nature creative or at least imaginative... if there's a difference. You want a game that will give you the most satisfaction on each play through, that each character is unique and each storyline unique. ST delivers! Patreon showcases this now with the comic co-creation. Also, the old a picture being worth a thousand words. So, you can show just how deep the role play value really is visually. I guess that's why I'm suggesting getting traffic there more easily. If you add the visual art (and the fiction to a degree, just the amount is visually impressive) wow factor from players you might add to the sense of depth in role play. Also, if I've no clue what I'm talking about, you don't have to spare my feelings lol

capthawk - thanks for sharing the ideas. You're definitely right about the in-game link to Patreon. Only Heroes of Steel has it today, actually. I've added it to our list to get it into the other games, that was an oversight. As a team of 2, we've got to constantly prioritize and prioritize ruthlessly to keep moving forward as a business. I see what you're saying about the library content, but to be honest, I can't see how we'd squeeze more into our 80+ hour week schedules. That is why we are always encouraging folks to write fan fiction, to write guides and walkthroughs, and why we started the library in the first place. If Cory and I try to do everything our backs will simply break and we'll never finish another game. I hope that makes sense, and when it comes to fan fiction if you browse the boards here on the forum you'll see great works all over the place, and top to mention is dayan's comic. That said, I'd point you to Brett Caron's awesome story, No Legacy Between the Stars. This took about 6 months to write, edit, finalize, sanitize to the canon, create cover art, finally publish as an ePub and then many more hours marketing and sharing. We're working with Brett anda another author now on new fiction in Star Traders and Heroes of Steel worlds -- which we can't wait to share. We do everything we can, and only wish we had more hours! Other works of fiction can be seen here, including a full length book written by a forumite, rabidbite, and a 20+ page comic by our youngest brother Martin in world of Steel - www.tresebrothers.com/fiction/

So... many... Trese sites...must use... bookmarks... Lol sorry. Thanks for the response, as I've said I'm no coder of PC pro, but I can grasp just merging content would be really time intensive. I am looking forward to Mr. Caron's book, and rabbits as I've read some of his short work. As I've hinted, ST had got me thinking about writing again as well. I'm a little funny when it comes to writing, if I have a project in mind I tend to avoid literature that might influence me unduly. Anyway, the dreaming part is the fun, not the nuts and bolts of typing and editing! All to say I'm probably not going to write anything, and will just buy and enjoy what's out there lol. Most ideas for stories leave me alone after awhile, I have to admit ST ideas I have are not though.

Not sure which version I prefer. I suppose I could keep them in the same image as part of the same squad, But between the sword, plasma sidearm, and the non-cannon Hydra II pod over the right shoulder, it would look like two captains at best. Especially since the Leviathans have an array of alternate helms and faceplates now.
Not quite done tweaking the legs yet either.
