@john Robinson No problem. Since I was the one the raised the the 4 questions in general I was happy to explain in more detail how I understood it. As I said I have had some experience with gaming forums in the past I was a section leader for the now defunct Warfare HQ. Did some game reviews and AAR's moderated forum and ran the Modern Warfare section. So I am no stranger to these types of discussions. Always happy to help!
I think we are all on board -- everyone just wants to work together cordially to find the best solution. That's good
How about this switch? 1. We modify the forum header to make it pretty and to specifically have an item for fan fiction. 2. We leave the existing fac fiction boards in their respective games, but put "(Fan Fiction)" in their titles 3. We do create a blog for fan fiction and we work together as a group to push the content that is ready, and especially any that comes with art, FROM the forum TO the blog instead of the other way around. A couple of FF moderators would be established to help groom up the fiction and keep it moving to the blog.
That's another way of blowing something up with a torpedo (this is akin to "another way to skin the cat" but used on Cadar worlds).
sounds good to me Fallen. I can make any banners, footers or banners you like- or be my guest if you want to do it. I'm giving credit on my Deviant art page- unfortunately, I have exactly seven followers. The sarna.net review of 3 of the games will come out within the next few weeks. That should increase coverage a bit, as should an interview.
Networking. Took me long enough to learn it, but learn it I did.
I'd love to get involved! I've only written a few pieces of fiction based on ST (most of what I've contributed has been proof-reading) but I do a lot of other fiction writing for various competitions. I'm also interested in being a moderator, but I wouldn't be able to guarantee being active all the time as I'm in the last year of UK curriculum secondary school and I'm drowning in revision and exams!
I guess the best thing to do is gather what you want to post and wait for the new subsection. Id imagine the fanfics that are posted all over Will be moved to the fanfic section. But i have apapprehensions and artwork being posted in forum threads. No one is going to want to dig through pages of stuff to find something. The fanart thread I started is 6 pages already and its not even 2 weeks old.
Great book @ Executive Decision. Email inbound. I think the first thing the admins & mods should do is set up a correspondence system if blogspot doesnt have one. Say all agree to use the personal message system here, for instance. Ill get to work on some more space imagery too- a mix of photoshopped NSSDC space images and drawings to color the site.
