The text for some message delivery Contracts does not mention a secure datapad. Is this deliberate? Are there message contracts that are not secure, i.e. where the Contract could be voided by a search?

Nope might just be an editing error, I'll check the strings.

I'd love to see delivery contracts that consist of actual items in the hold.

oldalchemist the game i'm pouring my heart into right now includes a number of package, data and message contracts. each one of them is backed by a real item, carried, hidden lost or opened, the player is in control. the abstract nature of ST RPG contracts is, perhaps, unfortunate but I'm afraid a change would be difficult (especially now that I now to make a really complete one.)

Think about how cool it would be to be able to be a scoundrel and sell off the contract goods to someone else and get an instant rep bomb.
"Yeah, these hat lasers were supposed to go to Rychart Prime, but I'll sell them to you guys at cost."
