All overages should be immediately converted to free drinks in the Spice Hall.
"Hey, we can't fit this load of chemicals onto the ship, so here's a coupon book." "Captain, either we can recruit these yokels or pay their way through bartending school." "Did you know that with a few tweaks, the payload of a standard Cadar 750-B can be converted into a tasty aperitif?" "No room for extra reactors, sir! Instead, we've installed jumbo cupholders on the bridge!"

I will go look at the time consumption code some, perhaps I will find something that has changed. I will say this -- the game is designed to make it an extra challenge if the Captain takes Contracts and starts wandering around checking out ships and doing stuff while on contract. PS: Trading in the Exchange takes time. Extra time if there are Taxes, or Bans or the Exchange is Crowded with Merchants or Refugees. If you have really good Negotiation or are playing a Merchant making Trade Records, extra weeks can be consumed. Dangerous goods (Artifacts) take a lot of time, as do complex things like Plants and Crystals. Records and Water-Fuel should take vastly reduced (-80%) time. Not that I check every time, but I've never seen the clock advance while I was checking ships or trading. Maybe it's not being displayed right?

Everytime I go to explorer and ill get a message saying that crew was saved by the exo crawler or officer. However my crew count decreases by the same number I lost. So am I missing something or is the exo crawler worthless? I have the same problem with the officer.

MTKnife -- I will check. @guest -- the Exo Crawler and officer reduce the number Crew destroyed. If you are seeing the toast than the casualties would have been MUCH worse without. When they only save a few, no toast.
